The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes meet in the second nonconference clash of the season between AP top-10 teams, as we share our top Ohio State vs. Notre Dame college football player props with predictions based on the best college football odds.

When these two teams met in opening week last year, Ohio State won a 21-10 defensive struggle. With a projected 55.5 point total, are we in for more scoring in the rematch in South Bend, especially since the Over is 10-1 in Notre Dame’s last 11 games?

Our own Brenden Schaeffer is also taking a look at this marquee game amid a jam-packed Saturday slate, and he's eyeing the underdog Fighting Irish in his Ohio State-Notre Dame prediction.

Here are our best college football player props and predictions for the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Week 4 matchup (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame college football player prop predictions for Week 4

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame player props

Kyle McCord Over 265.5 passing yards (-115 via DraftKings, bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

In the preseason, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day declared he had a quarterback battle between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown on his hands, even to the point where he said both would play in the team's season opener against Indiana. It turns out there was not much quarterback controversy after all, as McCord attempted 33 passes to Brown's three and has not looked back since.

McCord's passing totals and Total QBR have increased for three straight weeks, and he has a 6-0 TD-INT ratio over the last two weeks despite attempting 43 passes. However, we expect Day to put much more on McCord's shoulders in his biggest road test.

We trust that McCord is ready for the challenge and will be the next in a long line of successful Buckeyes quarterbacks, as the last five starters over the previous five seasons have ranked in the top five in FBS in QBR. McCord should not be under much pressure against a Notre Dame defense that ranks 48th in Havoc despite playing a weak schedule, and the Fighting Irish only had one player with five sacks last season (Isaiah Foskey), who is now in the NFL.

Caesars charges a slightly higher price (-117) than DraftKings and bet365, while FanDuel’s O/U is slightly higher at 269.5 yards.

Emeka Egbuka anytime touchdown scorer (+105 via DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Buckeyes have the best wide receiver in the country in Marvin Harrison Jr., and he was the top non-quarterback on most sportsbook's preseason Heisman odds lists. But we expect Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman to make him the focal point of the defense, which should free things up for Egbuka.

Egbuka has the same amount of receiving touchdowns (three) as Harrison and just two fewer catches. And while Egbuka's 13.9 yards per reception average is sixth on the team, he is a reliable red zone threat who does not need the big play to score touchdowns.

When star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba went down with an injury early in the first half against Notre Dame last year, then-quarterback C.J. Stroud targeted Egbuka early and often, and he turned in a team-high nine catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Look for similar production in this rematch.

Three of our best sports betting apps are aligned with the +105 price tag for this wager, while bet365 differs from the rest with less enticing -110 odds for Egbuka to find the endzone.

Jayden Thomas Under 51.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

While there were no questions about Wake Forest transfer quarterback Sam Hartman and his 110 touchdown passes entering the season, there were plenty of questions surrounding Notre Dame's receiving corps. Many of those questions have been answered now that the Fighting Irish have scored 40-plus points in their first four games to open a season for the first time since 1900.

The receiving corps of the team remains relatively unproven, particularly as Jayden Thomas, who had the most experience with just 38 targets in the previous year, is now their most seasoned receiver. In a recent game against NC State, Notre Dame secured a convincing 45-24 victory, largely propelled by their potent running game, which generated 170 yards on the ground.

This is a four-star play, as a strong Ohio State secondary entered last week ranked fourth in completion percentage allowed and opponents yards per pass allowed, then held Western Kentucky's Austin Reed to a 56.8% completion percentage and the Hilltoppers as a whole to 5.2 yards per pass.

FanDuel gets the nod as our go-to sportsbook for this wager, as it’s the only one charging less than -115 in juice for the Under.
