In what appears to be the final year of the longstanding rivalry game being scheduled as a guaranteed annual matchup, Farmageddon is going out with a bang in Dublin, Ireland. Rather than picking a side in what should be a competitive game, I give the edge to the offenses featuring key returning stars on both sides.
Avery Johnson and Rocco Becht - both of whom feature in our Iowa State vs. Kansas State player props - bring a wealth of experience at quarterback, while Kansas State running back Dylan Edwards should be ready to pace the Wildcats offense. Edwards played second-fiddle to DJ Giddens last season, but his 196-yard outburst in the Rate Bowl foretells a huge year ahead.
After this matchup hit 50 total points a year ago, I like these two experienced quarterbacks to push the total Over in a back-and-forth affair.

Last season, Incarnate Word blasted Nicholls State, 55-10, with current Kentucky QB Zach Calzada tossing five touchdowns. After largely sitting behind Calzada the past two seasons, new Cardinals starting QB Richard Torres should be eager to make his mark.
Though the Colonels get this matchup at home, Incarnate Word’s offensive system under Clint Killough simply pours it on - I like the Cardinals to carry this two-touchdown margin after it ranked among the FCS top 10 in yards per game a year ago.

Though Kansas stumbled to a 1-3 record against the spread as a home favorite a year ago, Jayhawks fans are excited about the renovations at ‘The Booth’ and should provide a raucous environment for this year’s opener against a Fresno State team that closed out last season on a four-game losing skid.
The electric Jalon Daniels is the primary reason I lean toward KU covering this spread, as Kansas averaged 34.2 PPG at home last season behind its veteran passer. I also like the Jayhawk defense to turn over Fresno State QB EJ Warner, who has thrown a whopping 37 interceptions across the past three seasons.
