🐯 Cade Klubnik (+900)
Dabo Swinney has had two different national championship-winning QBs go on to become first-round picks, but neither of them managed to bring the Heisman Trophy to Clemson. So why am I so bullish on Cade Klubnik? Well, unlike other QBs leading college football championship odds contenders, he plays in the ACC.
With the Big Ten and SEC being full of teams gunning to climb the College Football Playoff odds, and the Big 12 having the most parity of any conference, Klubnik has the opportunity to torch ACC defenses every week. It helps his cause that he's throwing to arguably the best trio of wide receivers in the country - Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco Jr., T.J. Moore - and playing behind a veteran O-line.
Last year, Klubnik broke out as a junior with more than 3,639 passing yards, 463 rushing yards, and 43 total touchdowns, and he finished fifth in the country in big-time throws (28). He should take another step forward this season with Clemson leading the country in returning production and No. 6 in SP+ on offense.
Given Manning's meager experience, Klubnik should be the Heisman Trophy odds favorite heading into the season.

🐔 LaNorris Sellers (+1800)
My two favorite Heisman Trophy bets ahead of the season target QBs in the Palmetto State: Klubnik and LaNorris Sellers. Coming off a breakout redshirt freshman campaign at South Carolina, Sellers is among the favorites to go No. 1 in April, according to the 2026 NFL Draft odds.
It's been a meteoric rise for the 34th-rated QB in the 2023 recruiting class after Sellers helped the Gamecocks win six of their last seven games - including beating Texas A&M, Missouri, and Clemson - to finish with nine wins for the first time since 2017. While South Carolina isn't a blue-blood program, it won't matter if Sellers can put up video game numbers in the SEC.
In recent years, mobile QBs like Sellers have had a huge advantage in the Heisman race, too. Four Heisman winners since 2014 accounted for 770-plus rushing yards and double-digit touchdowns the year they won. Sellers is capable of that after the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder ran for 674 and seven touchdowns while forcing the sixth-most missed tackles among QBs (47) last season.
If Sellers continues to develop as a passer, he certainly has the arm talent to do so, and if he can bump up last year's passing yards (2,534) and passing touchdowns (18), he'll have a shot at the award. His mobility is why he's a far better Heisman bet than similarly priced QBs like Carson Beck and Drew Allar.
Best long shot to win Heisman Trophy 🎯
🐊 DJ Lagway (+2500)
There's a long history of second-year passers who showed flashes as true freshman breaking out in their second college seasons. Three QBs since 2016 have won the Heisman in just their second season. And DJ Lagway certainly has the tools to be the next young star to bring home the award before he's draft-eligible.
The five-star recruit only started one game during the first half of his freshman season, when he torched an FCS program (Samford), but sparked the Gators in the second half of the year following Graham Mertz's injury. With Mertz now in the NFL, this is Lagway's team, and head coach Billy Napier's future in Gainesville is tied to his young passers' success.
Though Lagway was up and down last season, his arm talent was undeniable with the highest big-time throw rate (8.8%) among Power Four QBs (minimum 200 dropbacks). With a whole offseason as Florida's QB1 under his belt, a talented O-line, and a loaded wide receiver trio - Eugene Wilson III, J. Michael Sturdivant, Dallas Wilson - it shouldn't take Lagway long to look like a future top-10 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
As long as he's healthy, Lagway is going to make some major noise in the SEC as a sophomore ... and the narrative is on his side with how much Gator Nation is relying on him to resurrect the program.
