College football predictions

Michigan vs. Penn State Under 45 (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last week, the Wolverines allowed more than 10 points in a game for the first time all season. However, it took the Purdue Boilermakers nearly the entire time (only 18 seconds remained) to score their first touchdown of the contest. The Wolverines’ defense has been the best unit in college football all season, and while Saturday may be its first true test, we think it's bound to pass.

When Drew Allar and the Nittany Lions’ offense faced the Ohio State Buckeyes, they were unable to do much of anything for the entire 60 minutes. They finished the game with 12 points and just 240 total yards. However, the defense played well. We expect it to be good against the Wolverines this week.

Among our best sports betting appsFanDuel and BetMGM have this total sitting at 45.5, but the Under is priced at -115. We think this will be so low-scoring that the extra half-point won’t do us any good. Therefore, we recommend getting in at Under 45 for -110 with bet365.

Arizona -10.5 vs. Colorado (-105 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Colorado Buffaloes have pulled off two remarkable backdoor covers in a row. Those results have brought them to 4-5 against the spread this season. On Saturday, they face the Arizona Wildcats, a team that is 8-1 against the spread this season.

The Wildcats’ defense has been phenomenal over the past three weeks, and we think it will give the Buffaloes fits.

Shedeur Sanders and the Buffaloes haven’t scored more than 20 points in a game since Oct. 13, and we don’t expect that to change this week.

After a tough stretch of opponents, Noah Fifita and the Wildcats’ offense are going to have a day to remember on Saturday.

Rutgers vs. Iowa Under 28 (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s the lowest total since at least 1995, and yet, we’re still backing the Under. After opening at 28.5, this number has dropped to 27 at Caesars. While we think that’s excessive, we’d happily play Under 28 at bet365 for -110.

The Iowa Hawkeyes’ defense is allowing just 13.7 points per game, while the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are allowing 19.8. Both marks are top 25 in the country. Offensively, neither unit is good, with the Hawkeyes averaging 18.4 per game and the Scarlet Knights averaging 23.6. But throw those numbers out and remember that the Hawkeyes’ last three games have all gone Under 23 points.

Carson Beck Over 276.5 passing yards vs. Ole Miss (-115 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beck has been lighting it up all season long. He has four 300-yard games, and he has gone Over 280 yards in six of nine. This week, he faces the 75th-ranked pass defense in college football, and we expect him to have another 300-yard game in what could be a pretty close contest. But even if he doesn’t hit 300, his lowest passing total this season is 254 yards. That high of a floor against a weak pass defense means good things are likely to happen.

Currently, bet365 and DraftKings are offering the same total for the same price. However, you will want to get in as soon as possible. Among our other best sports betting sites, FanDuel has this total listed at 285.5 yards with the Over priced at -114. Considering the matchup and what Beck has done this season, we expect our other best sportsbooks to raise his number ahead of kickoff.
