An All-ACC matchup headlines the Friday night college football action when the Louisville Cardinals clash with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Here are our best Louisville vs. Georgia Tech predictions based on the best college football odds.

Jeff Brohm, who led the Purdue Boilermakers to the Big Ten title game last year, has assumed the role of head coach at Louisville. One of his notable moves during the offseason involved recruiting quarterback Jack Plummer from Cal. This reunites the two who were previously at Purdue, where Plummer had been replaced by Aidan O’Connell.

Conversely, the Yellow Jackets had to part ways with their starting QB, Jeff Sims, but counterbalanced the loss by acquiring Haynes King from Texas A&M. In his previous season, King accumulated 1,220 yards, seven touchdowns, and six interceptions across six appearances. How will he perform in his inaugural face-off against a team that maintained a stingy average of allowing only 19.2 points per game last season as we make our college football best bets for Week 1?

Here is our best Louisville vs. Georgia Tech prediction and college football picks (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

With this contest in Atlanta, the temptation is to take the hook and play Georgia Tech +7.5 with our college football Week 1 predictions. However, the Cardinals are the much better team entering the season and have a few advantages in Week 1.

While Plummer wasn’t a game-changer for the Cal Golden Bears last year, he did have a pretty solid touchdown-to-turnover ratio. He ended the season with 21 touchdowns and nine picks while throwing for 3,095 yards in eight games.

Plummer put up solid numbers at Purdue and didn’t throw an interception in 2021 before being benched for O’Connell after four contests. Plummer and Brohm already worked together, which really helps the transition for both heading into this season.

However, the real difference is running back Jawhar Jordan. Last year, he averaged 5.7 yards per carry, and though he scored only four TDs, three came in the season's final three matchups. The Yellow Jackets gave up 196.3 rushing yards per game in 2022, so if they fall behind, it’s hard to imagine the defense getting off the field and giving King a chance to mount a comeback.

FanDuel (-104)

DraftKings FanDuel BetMGM Caesars bet365
-7.5 -7.5 -7.5 -7.5 -7.5
-105 -104 -105 -110 -110

It won’t be long before this number is down to a TD based on how it's moved so far. However, if you want to take a chance with the extra half-point, there are some very good prices at the moment. FanDuel’s is the best right now, so it's the obvious place for this wager; make this bet with our FanDuel Kentucky promo code.

If you wait to bet until later in the week, there's a chance that a few books offer -7 at -110. That line at that price is definitely worth a play.

Louisville vs. Georgia Tech odds analysis

The public loves the Jackets. The Cards opened as 8-point favorites, and the line dropped to 7.5 after 63% of wagers backed Georgia Tech against the spread. This number should keep dropping, the only question is can you get a fair price when this spread hits a touchdown?

The total opened at 48.5 and that's where it has stayed at each of our best sports betting apps. 57% of wagers back the Over, and while this changed the price at some of the best sportsbooks, it doesn’t look like this action is enough to change the line.
