Kansas State vs. Colorado Player Prop Bet Odds & Touchdown Picks: Sanders Battles Ranked Wildcats

Phil Wood breaks down Saturday night's Big 12 matchup between Kansas State and Colorado with his top player prop bets, including picks on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

Shedeur Sanders will look to lead his Colorado Buffaloes to a win over the 18th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats Saturday at 10:15 p.m. ET. The Wildcats are 5.5-point road favorites as we add to our college football predictions for Week 7.

My best Kansas State vs. Colorado player prop bet picks include backing Sanders and his receiver Travis Hunter. While the Buffaloes are a one-dimensional team, with nearly all of their damage coming in the passing game, the Wildcats’ pass defense is a huge weakness for the 18th-ranked team.

For the Wildcats, the clear advantage lies in their rushing attack. DJ Giddens is averaging 7.3 yards per carry, but he’s scored only three touchdowns.

Will Giddens find the end zone multiple times this week against a defense that struggles against the run? Don't miss Shane Jackson's college football Week 7 player prop picks for more.

Giddens has scored only three touchdowns this season. Two of those have come on the ground, which is tied for the most rushing touchdowns on the team with Avery Johnson and Dylan Edwards.

But Giddens has gotten the most carries, which is huge in a matchup like this.

The Buffaloes’ run defense is much improved from a season ago, but they’re still allowing 155.8 yards per game and 4.1 yards per carry. Giddens is going to get a lot of touches to keep the ball away from Sanders and company.

The Buffaloes are allowing only 22.3 points per game this season, but they’ve allowed at least three touchdowns in all but one of their games. Look for the Wildcats to keep the offensive game plan simple and keep going back to what works.

That means running the ball and giving Giddens plenty of chances to score.

Best Kansas State vs. Colorado prop bets

Shedeur Sanders Over 297.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -115 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 53.49%

Even for Sanders, this is a high number. He’s already thrown for 1,630 yards this season, but he threw for just 290 two weeks ago against the UCF Knights, and he managed only 244 against the Nebraska Cornhuskers earlier this season.

But while the Wildcats are ranked, their pass defense is not good.

The Wildcats are allowing 280.8 passing yards per game. That ranks 115th in the nation. Sanders has struggled against some better defenses throughout his career but the Wildcats’ defense isn’t even close to the best he’s faced this season.

This total ranges from 297.5 to 311.5. While the price for some of the higher numbers is better than -115, this number is so high already that it’s best to just take the lowest number.

Travis Hunter Over 95.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -115 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 53.49%

If Sanders is going to have a big game, then so is his favorite target. Hunter has already caught 46 passes for 561 yards this season. He has gone for at least 100 yards in all but one game.

He went for just 89 yards against UCF, but he still caught nine passes and remains a Heisman Trophy odds front-runner.

Our best sports betting sites are accounting for the increase in competition for Hunter and the Buffaloes with this line. However, if they actually thought this was a bad matchup for Hunter, they would have set this number below 90 and watched as the public fell into a trap.

But the truth is, this isn’t a bad matchup.

The total is listed between 95.5 and 97.5 at each of our best sports betting apps. The price differences between the sportsbooks are negligible, which makes BetMGM the best place to play.
