Colorado vs. UCF Early Picks, Predictions & Odds Week 5
The Colorado Buffaloes returned to the Big 12 with a dramatic 38-31 overtime win over the Baylor Bears last weekend. They needed a Hail Mary on the final play of regulation, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Buffs improved to 3-1.
Colorado’s next challenge will be even more formidable. Deion Sanders’ team will travel to face Gus Malzahn’s UCF Golden Knights, who are 3-0 and coming off a bye.
With UCF entering as a two-touchdown favorite, our Colorado vs. UCF early picks assess the best betting angle for this week’s Big 12 battle as part of our Week 5 college football predictions.

Prediction: Colorado +14.5
Best odds: -115 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.49%
Paying the -115 vig is worth getting the extra half-point past a key number according to Unabated’s line calculator. The +14 spread available at most of our best sports betting sites would only be better at -106 vig or better.
I certainly like the idea of getting the hook in this case. Colorado has too many talented players to pass up this many points.
College Football Insiders project a 12.93 margin in favor of the Golden Knights, so getting a spread north of two touchdowns is essential. I expect this line to tick back toward the Buffaloes when the public wagers on this matchup later in the week.

Moneyline
- UCF best odds: -500 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 83.33%
- Colorado best odds: +450 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 18.18%
FanDuel offers the best spread for the road team, so it’s no surprise that the same shop provides the best moneyline value for the Buffs. A $10 bet nets a $45 profit for Colorado’s moneyline, which is trading as short as +380 at DraftKings.
Spread
After opening this line at 9.5 over the weekend, FanDuel has pushed the spread five points in favor of UCF. That’s why bettors can get the best odds on the underdog at that shop. Most other sportsbooks offer the line below two touchdowns, including a 13-point spread at Caesars.
Over/Under
It’s interesting to see the total discrepancy between our top-rated sportsbooks. BetMGM has dropped the line from 63.5 and now offers the best line for Over bettors, while FanDuel’s total has touched as high as 64.5 early in the week.
