If you don't care about price, why not just take the top 4 men's seeds? Chances of any of them losing in the 1st three rounds would likely be very small ... definitely would recommend looking at the draws when they come out though. Women ... shit man, all depends on the draw, but there's not too many of them that I say AREN'T prone to an upset.

#215Parlay: Kohlschreiber + Nieminen [+115]
Kohlschreiber continues to treat this tournament as his personal playground now at 25-6 here all-time. Rochus may test him, but if Kohlschreiber's serve remains stout - he'll be tough to beat here. Nieminen met Istomin twice in 2011, beating him twice in three sets on hard surfaces. Haven't been a fan of some of Nieminen's play this week, but he's surviving and sounds confident right now. Istomin is always a mixed bag. Will be topsy-turvy, but I think the Fin prevails.Comment -

#216Draws are up for the Australian Open. Andy Murray vs. Ryan Harrison in Round 1. Wowzers. Not that Murray won't beat him, but that's a tougher than usual opponent although not one that should trouble Muggy over the course of 5. If it's not Murray v. Tsonga in that QF, that will suck because both have easy paths although Murray might have to beat Monfils first. Del Potro got a GREAT draw to the Quarters in Federe's bracket. Fed's is pretty simple, so he should be there. I think Nadal & Djokovic's draws are equally easy to the quarters without too many issues. Raonic-Djokovic would be interesting, but we've seen Raonic get dressed down by good returners.
Wozniacki's injury won't matter. She's got Li in her bracket. As usual, Azarenka has a real nice draw to the semis but will probably fukk it up. The Sharapova bracket is wide open. Sharapova, Serena, Zvonareva, Lisicki, Kanepi ... if Serena is health though ... you know the drill. Kvitova also has a great draw to go toward the semis but she'll have to get through Stosur or Bartoli. Stosur's draw was made to give her a chance, but with her shite play of late and Cirstea up first ...
Just my quick thoughts. Will probably have more of a breakdown later.Comment -

#218EP, quick question for you. Ferrer just played this morning, and is now up again this afternoon against Verdasco in the Semi Final. Ferrer went down a set in the 2nd before taking it in 3... Surely there is no way he could hang tough for another game this afternoon? Seems like an auto-fade on Ferrer to me. Thoughts mate?? Am i missing something?Comment -

#219Man I never underestimate Ferrer as far as fitness. He is probably the most fit guy on tour. Obviously he worked harder than Verdasco, but he only spent about two hours on-court. He probably would have done that much in practice. If Verdasco was in better form, I'd back him at the nice price and see what happens .. but so far his 2012 hasn't been that great. Maybe he's starting to find himself, but he was miserable in that Hopman Cup exhibition. It's really a tough call. I'd only back Ferrer obviously in a parlay at that price, but he's the defending champ here so he has points to defend also [not that that is always important to some guys] ...Comment -

#231WTA Sydney: Li +140
Have to try this as well. Great match with Azarenka upcoming. Azarenka hasn't been perfect by any stretch this week. She's dangled out a ton of break opps, but has been able to save the majority of them. Li should put more pressure on her there. The match yesterday with Kvitova was typical Li. Grind, Grind, Grind and win. Both have played well historically here, but this is one of Li's best as she stands 17-3 and won the title in Sydney in 2009.
WTA Doubles: Huber-Raymond [-120]
Clash of the top two teams in WTA with Srebotnik-Peschke. They met twice last year. Huber-Raymond won the last one on hard courts in the WTA Championships. They got rolled on grass during the summer. Huber-Raymond were a very solid hard court duo and have looked a bit better this week. Even match-up, but I think the surface favors them slightly.Last edited by EaglesPhan36; 01-13-12, 01:00 AM.Comment -

#234Yea I think it was just about 15 mins, at first Benneteau was choking and then Baghdatis was coming up with some great defensive shots and just got lucky at times. I would have loved to see what would have happened if Baghdatis broke in that game though. Should be a good final, Nieminen is 1-11 in finals and Benneteau is 0-4 or 0-5 i thinkComment -

#235Well Li fell short. About the type of match I expected, lots of wacky momentum swings from set to set. Qualis were good again yesterday. Hit the parlay and split the dogs. Today is the last day of qualis, so will be looking again.Comment -

#245Australian Open Day 1 [1.15.12]
Kavcic [-125]: James Ward is the opponent. He made it through qualis here, but he's yet to break through and win a main draw match at a Slam. Kavcic has seen the main draw at several Slams and won a match here last year & then pushed Youzhny to five sets in the 2nd round. Both guys have had some moments on the Challenger level with success on hard courts, but only Kavcic has parlayed that into some main level ATP wins. He's got experience battling top tier players on this surface and I think that pays off here.
Huta-Galung [+100]: The qualifier played very well after stumbling some on his first qualifying match. He was not broken on-serve in his final two qualis. He draws Berlocq who is so-so on this surface, more of a clay specialist. He played Verdasco tight, but both players played pretty poorly in that one. Neither has ever won a main draw match in Melbourne. If HG keeps it together and starts quick, I think that changes for him.
Parlay: Tomic + Falla [+105]
Tomic draws Verdasco and right now, Tomic is the better player. Verdasco has seemed lost for the better part of the last year on this surface since Melbourne. Nothing early in 2012 suggests to me that he's got his mental game and physical game at a nearly high enough level. Tomic meanwhile should be at his best confidence wise with his start this year. He beat some quality players whether it was exhibition or not and he's no longer a green horn when meeting the bigger names on tour. Falla is a better player than Fognini on this surface without a doubt. He's played better than him early this season and Fognini's career mark on hard courts is atrocious. If Falla brings anything like we've seen early this season, he should advance.
May add some more later, but this is where I'm starting.
