#3223Whew! Cook survives in a 3rd set tie break to get me even on the day. Thought he was done for sure, got broke to go down 4-5, but broke Bogdanovic right back and then rallied from down 2-4 in the tie break. Needed that!
Going to track the Russian Syndicate's play for this evening now.

#3225I was going to pick one in Austria, but it looks like it's going to rain all day there tomorrow, so I am going to pass and wait to see if maybe it will still be up for Wednesday. Got one for Spain that I will be posting momentarily. Actually seen some decent Challenger plays here early and of course due to my degeneracy, they are early in the day and give me something to do while waiting for the ATP play late in the day.Comment -

#3226You think Muster can give brown a match?..Id be inclined to throw a .25 unit on him at that price just because if they get the match in he might have a shot.Comment -

#3229TUESDAY CHALLENGER PLAY
KING-TURNER +104
Good spot here for the Kiwi from New Zealand. His big serve is made for hard courts as is the case at this Spanish Challenger this week. His opponent, Munoz de La Nava has been playing almost exclusively on clay for months and now has to do this quick surface switch. The dog price for King-Turner comes courtesy of de La Nava making and losing the Cordenons Clay Challenger final last week. That fits into a good fade spot to begin with. King-Turner defeated the Spaniard easily on a hard surface this Spring, using 16 aces and a big serve to control the match. de La Nava has not played on a hard court since just after that match while King-Turner made the semis of a hard court Challenger earlier this month. Surface + switch for de La Nava should give the Kiwi the edge here and you get plus money to boot.Comment -

#3235That's the problem with challengers: terrible odds at all books. On top of that, low limits, and those that do offer do it very much as a sideline - ie if you play only that, expect to have your account limited :-(Comment -

#3239Starting off the day with another loser. Yay! Challenger play = fail.
Not sure about Fish. I think he was smart to take off most of last week in LA following his Atlanta run. Troicki has had a pretty blah season on hard courts and I don't really know what you can take away from the Kevin Kim match other than Kevin Kim is not very good. For me, it's a match I'd rather watch to see how Fish does over spending money on it. If Fish is fresh and mostly healthy, he will win IMO.Comment -

#3240MEUSBERGER-BARROIS OVER 21 [-118]
I see two typical WTA servers here in that they both suck and offer lots of break opportunities. They've played each other three times on three different surfaces. The only real "blowout" was on Barrois' home turf in Germany, a 6-3, 6-2 result. The last came on clay in March where Barrois prevailed 7-5, 6-3. 21 games. Seems like a lazily set line. Neither is exactly comfortable on an indoor hard court, both with better results this year on dirt. Both had some time off between their last clay court match and this tournament, so the surface switch will still be something to watch but I would suspect both have had good practice time on it. This should be some nice low quality tennis and that usually means they wind up being out on-court for far too long, but for the purposes here - could be a nice shot for the over. Break out your fader-ade!Comment -

#3243CHALLENGER PARLAY: BOLELLI + HAASE [-118]
Do or die here. Another loss and I'll be taking some time off because I obviously have zero feel for anything. Bolelli switches down to the Challenger level after partaking in the last two ATP level clay events. The Italian acquitted himself quite nicely by working through qualifying in those events and then scoring a win in the main draw in each before losing in 3 sets in the second round of both tournaments. No shame in either loss to experienced dirt rat Chela and talented Thomaz Bellucci. His opponent is a young Czech, Lojda. He has shown some decent form at the Challenger level with QF appearances in 3 of his last 5 clay tournaments. There is a gap in class here, so Bolelli is the pick on home turf in Italy. Haase draws Roger-Vasselin. He whipped him 6-2, 6-2 last week on clay. The Frenchman might put forth a better effort, but Haase should have the confidence and has good results the last two tournaments on clay at this level. Can say the same for Roger-Vasselin, but Haase is now 2-0 vs. the Frenchman and the scoreline from last time is hard to overlook. You know the drill, fade it.Comment -

#3247LoL. Did you read about Daniel Koellerer getting DQ'ed I think it was about a week ago. He took a bathroom break and his coach went into the stall next to him and gave him advice on this match - a NO NO - an ATP official happened to be in the bathroom at the same time.
Haase wins. Bolelli up a set. Might be staving off my own elimination.Comment -

#3255Eh Vancouver, I don't know if it would pan out but Dancevic withdrew with a hamstring problem at the Granby Challenger last week. Levy isn't a fantastic player, but Dancevic has only had two days to rest and rehab.
I could defintely see Bester being a worthy pick at +170ish. I love Lindahl's game and all, but he's inconsistent. Bester played well here last year, beating Sweeting and taking Baghdatis deep into a 3rd set in a loss in the QFs. I actually like this one quite a bit and might play it later. Going to homework it a little more.Last edited by EaglesPhan36; 08-03-10, 04:55 PM.Comment
