    DOUBLES PLAY

    BOPANNA-QUERESHI -140
This Indian duo has been in hot form since the shift to hard courts with a semifinal appearance last week in LA, losing to the Bryans. In Atlanta, they made the finals, losing in the final. They draw the first time team of Damm & Marach. Both are solid doubles players, but are not paired with their normal partners. Damm won the doubles title at the Legg Mason last year, but with a different partner. I'll go with a team in solid form against a newly formed duo for this tournament.

Muller is finished. He didn't necessarily play bad, but he only saved two of four break points and Berankis is 3 for 3 on saves.

          NALBANDIAN -125
This one probably won't be starting until around 7:30pm ET, but it might be the most interesting match-up of the night as the Argentine draws Stan Wawrinka. Wawrinka has been off since losing his Wimbledon opener, so right away he's got a strike against him for not having any recent match play on this surface. Nalbandian meanwhile looks as if he may be prepared to surge a bit this summer. He whipped Davydenko & Youzhny on indoor hard courts in Davis Cup play and revved up by running over Rajeev Ram in straights here in Washington. The Swiss holds a firm hold [5-2] on the head-2-head meetings, but most are at least two years old and probably don't accurately reflect where these two guys are now. Wawrinka started the year with a finals appearance in Chennai on the outdoor surface, while Nalbandian has been so-so on hard courts with a 4-2 mark in limited action in 2010. Nalbandian says that since his return at the Davis Cup, he feels fit and believes good results will come for him for the rest of the year. This is another good spot to build his confidence and with more recent match-play, I think he outlasts the Swiss tonight.

Oudin gave out five break points in her 1st service game, but did save them all. Still, that is brutal. Hopefully Stosur nails her on the next one.

I am pretty confident on Stosur. Baghdatis is making me nervous though. By the way, when is the double play BOPANNA-QUERESHI gonna start?

Doubles starts after Golubev match. I think they changed the court & time from what was originally scheduled. I expected Baghdatis to have to fight, hopefully he gets this first set in the tie break.

Doubles & Nalbandian do it to it. I don't know where it came from, but I had a free play at Bet Phoenix and used it on Nalbandian. Don't know if it will ever be converted to cash, but it's $200 if it does.

No opinion on Jankovic-Kleybanova, although I don't think I understand why all the money is on Jankovic here, Over is probably best scenario IMO at 21.5. Passing personally and getting ready for tomorrow!

                                                KRAVCHUK +115
The Russian draws Gimeno-Traver who is almost exclusively a clay court player at this stage. Gimeno barely survived his opening round encounter, winning 7-6(4) in the 3rd set. He wasn't that poor, but did have some trouble putting his 1st serve in [61%] and had 7 double faults. Kravchuk meanwhile used a solid serve and saved 10/11 break opps in his opener to win in straights. He's made a final on hard courts on the Challenger level this season and a semifinal in July. Gimeno has played a grand total of 20 hard court matches in his career with a 6-14 mark with four of those wins coming this season, three in qualifying. The Russian has won 9 matches just this season on the hard stuff.

I see it at +125 now. Interesting movement if it got all the way to +180. It is a Russian after all, never trust worthy, but at least it's plus money. We'll find out a couple hours from now what's what.

                                                        SREBOTNIK-CIRSTEA OVER 21.5 [+120]
Taking a stab here. Cirstea has always been a so-so server and that panned out yesterday in her 3 set match. The thing that stands out at me even though they were months ago are two pretty bad losses to Melanie Oudin on indoor surfaces because Oudin has stunk for pretty much all of 2010. Srebotnik was solid on-serve vs. Glatch, but Glatch is a lower tier of competition. Still in looking at Srebotnik's results in 2010, one thing shows up most of the time. She fights hard. That's why I think this one could go 3.

Need Srebotnik to take 4-5 games in the second set.

CHALLENGER PARLAY: STARACE + KENDRICK [-133]
Starace has been a big performer of late on clay and has a great track record at the San Marino Challenger. he's won the event twice and made the finals four times in all. He cruised to a straight sets win in the opening round after a tight first set. Good news since he was coming in off a finals appearance at the Umag tournament. He draws the Argentine, Junqueira, who has had a very average clay season. He did perform well in his opener against the Dutch youngster Schoorel, but for the most part in 2010 he has lost to "in-form" and quality clay players when matches up with them. He finds that today. Kendrick draws Lester Cook who somehow survived his opener against Bogdanovic. Kendrick I think brings one weapon to the table that Cook cannot match and that is his serve. Kendrick's wasn't as solid as it needs to be today in his opener. He only got 42% of his 1st serves in, but he still won over 70% of the points off his 2nd serve and 85% on 1st serve. Cook has played better on the hard surface in 2010, but he's still under .500 for his career on it. Kendrick made the Carson Challenger final in May and has been decent on his preferred surface. If he can get more first serves in, he should find a way to win.
