It isn't going over my head. It is clear as day. You're telling me you don't want to see two homos smooching at the bar. Let me ask you this. How often do you see two heteros smooching at the bar? Very rare. Also, because the homos can now be "married", how is this going to change the amount of homos in the US? Homos are already homos. They don't see that they can now be married to each other and decide they are a homo. I didn't think you're were this shallow minded. The teacher doesn't teach your kid to be a homo either, Opie. Your kid is either a homo or their not. That is your job in the home to teach the values in which you want your kid to possess.

It's about the definition of marriage.
While I'd rather not see homos kissing at a bar, that's not what this is about.
It's not about the teacher teaching my kid to be a homo. It's about changing the curriculum. It's about someone telling kids that it's perfectly normal and fine for the same sex to be married like their mommy & daddy are. Because in my opinion, it's not.
I know my views aren't popular here. This is a hugely liberal board. But my feelings have nothing to do with not wanting others to be happy. I hope we all can be.Comment -

People who own this fellas franchise will now lose customers because he can't keep his opinions to himself. Do you understand now? Yes they had a great first day after this fella alienated a nice chunk of customers. Do you think in the long run he will gain more than he lost? In business you don't take these chances. I actually have no doubt that Chic Fil-A's business will improve from this situation. Unlike yourself, most Americans respect companies that aren't afraid to stand for something. Do you realize how many simpletons like yourself said the same thing about CFA decision to be closed on Sunday? How'd that turn out?
Libtards & homosexuals need to realize that the vast majority of the USA doesn't share their views. Most people still have a moral compass, and appreciate others that aren't afraid to have the backbone and character to stand up for what they believe in.Comment -

#227Dopie, i already made it in the business world. People should voice their opinion but if you think this is good for business u are just as backwards as the guy who is the COO of Chick Fila. Yes, this goes over well with uneducated backwards hicks but in states were education isn't at the bottom, this is a big waste of time. I can't imagine people who own this franchise, in states that have IQ's higher then 50, appreciate what the guy at the top has said. Now Dopie in Texas this is just fine cowboy lingo. Just like pollution where u pretty much rule the other 49 states. There is nobody's on this planet that gets more shit then me on these post boards for voicing an opinion but i was bright enuf to keep my mouth shut when i depended on a customer base that featured everyone's opinion. Ridiculous to think what this guy said is good for business and i would say the same thing if he said he couldn't care less if gay people got married. You just don't go there.
Not neccesarily agreeing with any side here about long term whether this will be a + or - financially but I will tell you that I live in the 3rd wealthiest county in the country with the highest education level. It is by and large liberal, yet the lines have been just as ridiculous as in the deep southern conservative states. Yesterday the drive through took 30 minutes. It is not a matter of education it is a matter of beliefs and principal. For gays to be outraged by this mans comments is hypocrisy at its finest. Why should the President of a company not have a right to voice his beliefs and opinion as a citizen yet homosexuals get to march the streets and live and speak their way of life as citizens? What the guy said was his right as an AMERICAN just as homosexuals having the right to be openly gay is AMERICAN. The whole key here is the word Marriage is not an AMERICAN term it is a religious term, the fact that homosexuals demand access to a term religious people hold dear is a disgrace and honestly meant for no other reason than to rile up and honestly infringe on the rights of the religious. You can't redefine a word that is based on religion in a country because the definition and meaning transcends the powers of a government. It is a pact under God between a man and a women. That is all there is to it. They have been offered the same right under a different word and that is not enough for them so forget it.Comment -

#228People need to stop seeing "marriage" as a religious right and not a legal one. Religion has zero jurisdiction in American law nor should it ever. Marriage and the rights that go with it and determined by state law, not catholicism or christianity. If gay people want to get married, so what? Let them. It's their constitutional right. All men created equal, not all straight men. This is an age old argument and it's the right one. People saying gays can't married makes about just as much sense as saying the Chinese couldn't own land in 1930's. Why couldn't they own land? Because the government said so, with no logical reasoning at all.
People need to come off that sh!t and realize that if people are gay they're just the same as anyone else, they just prefer the same sex. All these macho tough guys saying that men should be men and queers are subhuman, check out our military, there's scores of guys gay as picnic baskets in there who could beat the fuk out you, and on top of it they're still soldiers who do their duty just as good as the next. I'm not gay but I have family members who are, and honestly I see no difference between someone calling a gay guy "f\*g" and dropping the n bomb on a black person. It's simple bigotry and hatred and people need to be understanding of differences to their own beliefs. If you don't like gay people, fine, but you can't tell them what rights they can and can't have. That's complete "inequality".Comment -

Im amazed that these people who are supporting this fellow are all great citizens but the OCWstreet crowds are broke unemployed people. This is how utterly stupid this country is. You have Wall Street who created this economic mess and people trying to stand up to them getting slammed, yet these assholes feel a need to support a fast food giant because they like his MSg laden chicken, and they are a bigot just like the guy they are supporting. #238Oh, I understand why CFA is closed on Sunday.
My post was referring to why does Christianity choose Sunday as their Sabbath? Sunday was the pagan day of worship, amongst many religions, including the Roman religion and Mithraism. Early Christians did not want to be persecuted by the Roman goverment (as they did with the Jews), so Christians began taking on many pagan traditions as their own. Mass on Sunday, Christmas, etc.Comment -
