Practicing for a B.A.S.S. tournament on Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY.

It got cancelled. Drove straight home to Texas. 21 hours.

I ditch school that day and watch the whole thing at my friend's house. After the second plane crashed, I went straight home to mamas and papas crying confessing that I ditched.

I still got grounded.

Freshman year of high school, I had the earliest lunch (like 10 am) and they announced it then......Every class all we did was talk about wtf was going on and had the tvs on

Dont think we had class for the next 2 days......Some people's families and friends in my town were directly affected as I grew up an hour south of NYC.....

I remember some debris and dust that afternoon which is pretty crazy being that we are like 50 miles away....

Interesting to read what everyone was doing, and how everyone's experience was slightly different but we came together as a country in spirit those following weeks. Was something I can hardly describe.

3rd period english, 7th grade. Principal announced it over the PA system.

Didn't really comprehend the magnitude of the event until I saw my biology teacher watching it at the start of the next class.

I don't think she realized her students had entered the classroom.

actually was asleep until family woke me up. the crazy thing is, my ex girlfriend and i had seats on a flight to vegas for wed the 12th. obv we had to wait a week, but flying again so early after 911, it was pretty freaky.

You could never be prouder to be an American after 911 because of how the whole country came together to show such great. I shed many tears for at least a month after.

Was on my week off working in the yard. My mother in law/ neighbor told me they are attacking the trade center again.
Turned it on to watch the 2nd plane hit. Watched all day with my mouth open in disbelief. Really got pissed when they
showed Islamic countries cheering.

I was working at Sears in the warehouse. Had just graduated high school. My roomate woke me up and we watched everything for a few hours before I went to work. The next day my roomate decides he wants to be a fireman, I had nothing else going on in life, so tagged along. We enrolled in an emt-basic class. I eventually went on to become a paramedic and then nurse and now am in PA school. Hes a financial consultant. So for me atleast, 9/11 has shaped my life.

my little sister just had her "white coat" ceremony a few months ago at her PA school in oakland CA. now she is doing her rotations. her last rotation was in hawaii. good for you for pursuing it. its like all of med school stuffed into 2 years. she almost couldnt take it.
