They didn't break our spirit...one thing I remember vividly about the weeks after the attack were people of all ages and backgrounds showing real patriotism. Being proud to be an American. Somehow between then and now I feel we have lost that.

On my way! To work downtown Dallas. I was listening to Howard stern the second plane hit and knew right away we were under attack. Turned around and went home no way I was going to sit in a skyscraper in downtown wondering if my building would get hit. I was freaking out all day. The next day I wanted to go join the army the wife talked me into giving blood instead.

I might have cashed out a hand full of people that night. I was out of town working. I was staying at the Springhill Suites in North Phoenix. I come out to breakfast, and everyone is paying rapt attention to the TV. May have been 15 to 20 people in the room, no one was talking, all eyes on the TV. So, what are you watching ... not five or ten minutes later they showed the first tower going down. A very horrible day.
