Oh brother. Are you older than 50? That's the only excuse for having this much trouble with this.

Did it have Tor? I use Tor for most all my internet activities.

even if disk was formated, you can easily restore previosuly written data

maybe you could find some naked pictures of woman or some sort of secrets...

i would definetly give it a try and try to find something

Wrong. This is not an episode of world's dumbest criminals. I would be more discrete if I bought a stolen laptop from a crackhead.

The disc just spins. Nothing comes up to help me do anything. The green light just blinks, no passcode breaking action.

You dont, you return the stolen property to Best Buy where you got it and apologize and pray they dont have you thrown in the slammer.

When a computer first starts up there is usually a "splash" screen which instructs you to "press "x" key to enter one time boot menu" or "press "x" key to enter system BIOS"

                  Either one will work.

If you get into your one time boot menu simply select your DVD/CD drive as the boot device.

If you get into your BIOS change the boot order for the devices -> DVD/CD device to the top of the list.

One thing you have to ensure is that you are creating a BOOTABLE DISC when you make the OPH crack CD. If it is not bootable nothing will happen. You can create a bootable disc by using either IMGBURN or ULTRAISO.

You have a relative that knows anything about computers? Sounds like you don't have much experience with this stuf....

Because you bought it at an auction, I would check if there is a BIOS password as well. A password on your BIOS to change your BIOS settings will still allow you to boot the OS, but what if later you want to change BIOS settings? Check it.

You would want to install a new OS regardless of whether you have the account password or not. You bought it therefore it should be yours, your BIOS, your OS and your everything else. That means DON'T install windows or mac, if you do, they own your OS. Install an OS that is legally yours, why would you want to install windows 7 anyway?

It's just a constant black screen?

You have to download the program and burn it to a disc. Then the disc is suppose to hash it for you and give you the password. I've used this and it works. Only thing is, I'm not sure if OPH works for Vista or Win7 yet. Works great on XP.
Thanks JMobile. It worked too easy. Thanks a million. Laptop works great.

                                    That program should be illegal.
