What is your favorite band? Mine is Tool. Every time I listen to them they just make me feel the music. I have been to many concerts but there is nothing like being at a Tool concert. If you like them they are on tour right now and I really suggest seeing them live if you haven't already. My favorite song is Schism. Here is the video. It's long but listen to it if you don't even know who they are. The drummer is Danny Carey and he is just plain sick.

Nothing better than sitting outside with a little Jimmy Buffet/Zac Brown Band/Kenny Chesney on a nice Summer afternoon.Comment -

...Putting aside the fact list was BANDS, and your list are solo artist.
Seriously cannot believe anyone would put Morrisette in the catergory as the others. Avril is a typical pop act with a little better voice and absolutely no musical talent. Morissette lacks that.
Personally, its Beatles and then a far drop to 2nd in bands. I dig a lot of the early-mid 70's - even though its before my generation.
Grew up right as grunge broke. Liked nirvana, but never considered them musically superior to anyone. They were a punk band with a great lyricist.
Always considered groups like AIC and screaming trees as superior seattle sound.Comment -

#19Stones are up there all time.
Recently, can't think of a band that's radio friendly who isn't seemingly recycling 70s arena rock.
So many bands build a cult following that I just don't get.
80's for me, 3 great groups pop to mind, U2 dire straits and GNR.Comment -

As far as Canada's best, got to add Fred Eaglesmith to that list, kinda like a Canadian Robert Earl Keen.
