Yea I agree...but I wasn't banking on most posters here to actually have read a book so

If they ever do a movie on Jordan Belfort from his Wolf of Wall Street and Catching the Wolf of Wall Street books.....some great stories in there from his party days.

The Dead Zone with Christopher Walken and Martin Sheen. Great movie about a guy who goes into a coma and comes out with the ability to see someones future if he touches them. One of my favorite, under the radar flicks.

Did you just call True Romance "overrated" outside of a few scenes?

Couldnt disagree more. True romance was a great film.

Jackie Brown is actually my favorite film by Tarantino and alot of people have never seen it.

Just watched Kurosawa's "Ran" again. Incredible film

Death Of a Ghost Hunter (it's a low budget flick on Netflix instant queue that is truly creepy)
The King Of Kong (Another documentary, used to be on Instant Queue, but Netflix took it off)
                                The Kingdom (Jamie Foxx)
Invictus - I know this isn't unknown, but seems a lot of people haven't seen it.

Great movie, a definite mindfuk the first time you watch it. Watch the director's cut if you can.

Here's a few little known movies...

Brotherhood Of The Wolf (Le Pacte De Loups) - In 1765 something was stalking the mountains of central France. A 'beast' that pounced on humans and animals with terrible ferocity. Indeed they beast became so notorious that the King of France dispatched envoys to find out what was happening and to kill the creature. By the end, the Beast of Gevaudan had killed over 100 people, to this day, no one is entirely sure what it was.

Where The Buffalo Roam - Bill Murray as Hunter S. Thompson. 20 years before Depp played the role.

This one is more recent and an excellent movie
The Bang Bang Club - Based on the true-life experiences of four combat photographers capturing the final days of apartheid in South Africa. This group, in real life, has won two Pulitzer Prizes for photography of the war and violence in South Africa.

I agree with those mentioning "The Cooler" - I didn't even know about the movie when it was in the theater but on cable I watched it every time it was on. It's a must see.

A couple of others to note:
                                                  Saint John of Las Vegas

I must say... I'm quite impressed with most of the suggestions in this thread. Some of my favorites that people have already named are Sideways, Falling Down, The Dead Zone, and Pump Up the Volume. You can't go wrong with any of those. Another one that I really like is an offbeat comedy called The Foot Fist Way. It's sort of a mix of Eastbound and Down and Napoleon Dynamite. Here's a trailer for it... if you like the trailer you will probably like the movie. If you don't like the trailer... you won't like the movie.
