#212JJ. the next time you hear someone talk about "professional gamblers" or Billy Walters show them a few articles about this guy, Alan Woods. You may have heard of him and Alan Benter, and I think Zeljko Ranogajec is richer than both of them. Compare Billy Walters and all that real estate wealth with these numbers that people gamble in Asia and Happy Valley. These Aussies and guys in Asia are just gambling incredible sums.
This article is a little off with numbers and his wealth, its australian currency .

#214Nope. The US. Australia is a small country but God they produce some rich punters and lot of gamblers. Every time I read about gambling in Asia it just blows me away with the money involved in a place like Happy Valley. This stuff blows my mind every time I read it, the syndicates and the groups in hong kong and the numbers involved. People talk about million dollar wagers on the super bowl, LOL.
Look at this guys tax problems , I think he is was bigger than Benter or Woods ever were but its hard to tell.
Taxman targets the king of punters Zeljko Ranogajec
AUSTRALIA'S biggest gambler, a reclusive maths wiz who bets more than $1 billion each year, is being examined by the Australian Taxation Office.
Tasmanian-born Zeljko Ranogajec accounts for between 6 and 8 per cent of Tabcorp's $10bn Australian betting turnover and is said by experts to be the world's biggest punter.
Now, the mysterious son of Croatian immigrants faces an ATO audit, according to his business partner and fellow gambler David Walsh.
Ranogajec recently helped fund Walsh's dream of building Hobart's newest tourist drawcard, the $70 million Museum of Old and New Art and Walsh says he feels deeply indebted to his former university colleague.
"He is being audited (by the tax office) at the moment but I am sure it will turn out amicably," Walsh tells The Weekend Australian.Comment -

#2153-0 for +.75 units. Running total +2.875. No complaints here. Greg, I know nothing about any of the 3 games I bet on. Strictly numbers and the Australians who bet big are huge. Got to spend time with J Packard and he is a smart guy. Not as ballsy as his old man.Comment -

#226Thanks Opie. I love JJ, maybe he is actually good luck in other peoples threads but not in his own spreadsheet . Grits should talk more about Chinese and gambling sometimes. They believe in bad luck, numerology ,very superstitious, but gambling with Asians is a whole different experience. Grits, put some some more pics of Macau when you get a chance. What a great people.

#238Spaced on posting plays which sucks because it turned out to be a good day. No idea how the Tenn game stayed under 136 after that 1st half. It seems all my plays went against line movement and they cashed.
Taking over Org St ov 144 for 1/2 unit right now. See about 6 more likely plays.

#239Like an idiot, I went against this line in the SDSU/New Mexico game. I love fading these line moves because in so many of the sports I bet on like tennis, it always seems to be the wrong side. I forget about american sports and I don't look at the data. I saw someone on a forum post an article and link from this site, turns out to be great site,. This turns out to be one of the best sites I have seen in awhile. Great rankings and write ups. He has this new mexico team as the highest rated, their ats numbers have been phenomenal.

Three years ago New Mexico was badly underrated nationally, so I dutifully wrote about the Lobos. Steve Alford's team chose to respond to their plight that year by losing on a neutral floor to what at the time was a thoroughly mediocre Wyoming team in the Mountain West tournament. Then two years ago New Mexico was badly overrated nationally, so I dutifully wrote about the Lobos. Alford's men chose to respond to their good fortune by getting thrashed soundly as a No. 3 seed by No. 11 Washington in the round of 32.
This season? Right now it's looking like a return to 2009. In the eyes of the pollsters, the Mountain West is still the redoubt of San Diego State and UNLV. Only cause for concern in Albuquerque: the Lobos have been able to offset a high number of turnovers with Izzo-like work on the offensive glass. If the former continues the latter will have to."Comment -

#240NM was actually one of my plays. MWC is very inconsistent to say the least. The only thing I hate about betting against line movement is when I jump in too early and get a bad number. Has cost me a few times this season. Last night I hit USF early at -3 thinking it would go up and it dropped. Luckily it was never in question.
Have never bet on tennis. No clue. The locals out here take a ton of tennis, golf, soccer action. They do decent volume in American sports they say.Comment -

#243Good luck Grits. I am looking at that VCU game and maybe putting something on Orlando and the Lakers in pro ball. I thought that line would be around 8 or 9 on VCU, Northern Iowa coming off a rough loss wednesday night and traveling to the east coast for a friday night game, Northern Iowas numbers are not too impressive even against other Missouri valley teams.
The only friday night college game I am even looking at is this one, I cant wait for bracket buster weekend. Friday night college ball is so bad. There are some good bracketbuster games this weekend.
