You know - a part of me would love it ... but that's me being both lazy and maybe a bit sheltered? I like reading these threads. Not all of the personal attacks obviously but I like learning where posters are coming from, more insight into their lives, teaching me about history (which you have done A LOT lately btw so thank you-- would love to have 1/10 of the history knowledge you have). I know what I'm getting into by signing into an online forum. We're way more careful than probably any other gambling forum out there as I'm sure you know by seeing the "SBR bans everything" "Shari gave me an infraction for ...." threads. It's a fine line... some people cry too much censorship and then others ask for people to be banned. You can't win other than to try to encourage lively debate without going over the line by personally attacking people

Look pal, honestly.....I've never had any interaction with you as far as I know. Hell....I thought you had just joined yesterday until I saw that you had 3500 posts!

But regardless of no one having heard of you from your first four thousand or so posts on here.....I just want to welcome you to the board. This is a great chit-chat room. Best on the internetz!

You might do better hanging out in the Saloon and getting some reps in our PT minor league for awhile, though. You just don't seem quite ready for the big show yet, pal. Check back with me in a few months and we'll revisit this again.

Thanks, Ace.....and good luck to 'ya!!

Threads like this are good. They tell people who's who.

As far as the shirt, I have no problem with it. It was history. The attack united Americans to take the war of terrorism to the enemy. It's baffling that the US allowed terrorists training camps to operate in the open with the support of the Taliban prior to the US military intervention. Now those same terrorists are either swimming with the fishes or hiding like rooster roaches listening for the hum of a kite like drone carrying lethal sidewinder missiles operated by some pimple face solider in Missouri.

Americans should be proud of their progress on terrorism. The rest of the world harbors the secret envy of knowing they are inferior. A survey in France found the majority of respondents hoped the terrorists would defeat America. Imagine that. The US lost 100,000 men on their shore rescuing them from the Germans and a half a century later they are pulling for the terrorists. It goes to show you how powerful of an emotion envy is.

[quote=convick;13041361]Terrorism is terrorism. No one In their right mind can deny that the US military is the largest terrorist force in the world.

          Exhibit A

You are an idiot. Do you even know the story behind that picture ?

Yes. It was a couple of years ago now. It was in January 2005, and I was embedded with US Army troops in Tal Afar in northern Iraq. I’d been sent there by the Army. I had wanted to go to Mosul, where there were some battles going on at the time, but I’d been sort of waylaid to go to Tal Afar, because you don’t always get the embeds that you want in Iraq. And I was with a group of soldiers on a routine evening patrol around dusk, about 6:00 or so, right around the time where the curfew was held in Tal Afar, and a car on the darkened streets sort of appeared in the distance and started coming down the boulevard toward the soldiers. As is well known, you know, the soldiers don’t like cars coming towards them. They fear suicide bombers and things. They weren’t sure what to do. They fired a few shots. The car kept coming, and so they shot up the car. And tragically, an Iraqi family was in the car, parents and six children, and the parents were killed instantly. And I documented that event.
Well, you know, the children — one of the children — I mean, the children were, of course, terrified and covered in — blood had splattered in the car, and they were covered in blood. The soldiers realized the mistake immediately and rushed up, took the children out. They weren’t sure who was injured, who was not, and they sort of evaluated the children on the sidewalk, in front there. I photographed all that. And one of the children, it turned out, had a gunshot wound, as well, and they were all transported to the local hospital and dropped off there.

The car was violating a known policy by driving straight at the military gate, they fired warning shots and the car kept coming. They did what they had to. It is a war. Once they realized it was a a family, they rushed the survivors to the hospital.

You do realize terrorist in the middle east would put bombs on their babies because U.S. Troops would come to attend to the kids and then somebody would detonate the bomb to kill the baby and the troop. Do you realize how much the U.S. military has done to build up Iraq and help the people of Iraq and Afghanistan ? I bet you dont because your an idiot who only acknowledges what he wants to believe.

I will admit that I have posted pics that have offended posters but I would say in almost every case the poster that was offended probably was doing a little agging on. Quite silly how people react to things though so instead of posting pics that might hurt someones feelings I will take the higher road from here on out. Here's some words from Robert Kennedy, maybe it will inspire some others to seek a different direction.

"There is discrimination in this world and slavery and slaughter and starvation. Governments repress their people; millions are trapped in poverty while the nation grows rich and wealth is lavished on armaments everywhere. These are differing evils, but they are the common works of man. They reflect the imperfection of human justice, the inadequacy of human compassion, our lack of sensibility towards the suffering of our fellows. But we can perhaps remember -- even if only for a time -- that those who live with us are our brothers; that they share with us the same short moment of life; that they seek -- as we do -- nothing but the chance to live out their lives in purpose and happiness, winning what satisfaction and fulfillment they can.

Out of all the sappy quotes that I usually see on Facebook, referenced by some drunk celeb as they're accepting an award, etc... this is the most meaningful one I've ever seen. Not sure how I've never stumbled across it before but I truly thank you for posting it. I'm printing it at this second (if the heat doesn't melt my printer) and am going to laminate it to put on my fridge. If I can teach my son to follow this even a teeny bit, I figure I'll die as a happy mom. Thank you doublej. Honestly. xo

The US (private citizens) was easily the biggest source of funds for the Irish Republican Army prior to Colonel Ghadafi taking up that role and the US government had funded/armed other groups that were engaged in terrorist activities.

Very few Americans had been directly affected by the effects of terrorist activities prior to 9/11 which would go a long way to explain the apathy.

Not sure what the source of that survey in France was but very often responses are skewed by how the question is asked.

America has turned a blind eye to many atrocities and went to bed with many shady characters. Many Americans probably don't know that the US supported Al Qaeda to oust the Russians from Afghanistan. The CIA helped train those fukkers.

Yes and we dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, supported the Shaw and sent troops into Vietnam. We will make more mistakes I'm sure. But we are not terrorized by the Japanese or Vietnamese oddly enough.

My point was 9/11 opened the eyes of America similar to Pear Harbor. No longer will we tolerate groups training in the open with plans to terrorize the US. In fact, we are doing a better job terrorizing them these days then vica versa.

if i was a comedian i could write a good set of material about that shirt.

you could really flesh it out. starting with the person that had the idea to make the shirt then how many copies to make. what store to sell it in, etc. then move on to the consumer that would buy the shirt. you could do a whole 5 minutes on concern of the creator on demand and the board room meetings, R&D.

                                      lots of comedy here.

No longer will we tolerate groups training in the open with plans to terrorize the US. In fact, we are doing a better job terrorizing them these days then vica versa.

Sideloaded has been on SBR for 4 years and has done what SBR wanted him to do. He has two other posting handles that we all know pretty well, this sideloaded is a new phase he has gone into and it will pass.. I do enjoy his other handles a lot more than this one.
