If I had to put my finger on it, it's probably people that have lacked a father figure growing up. A lot of white kids get butthurt when they see other kids playing with their parents and growing up happy and harbor those feelings long into adulthood.

I think that in some ways older white men use these emotions to lure in boys and then punish them. Destroying something beautiful, you know?

Either way, it's sad.

I was actually serious, albeit a bit sleep deprived at the time, but I still meant what I said. However I thought about this today some more and I think my views are slanted now because I haven't lived in N. America for several years and the places I've lived since don't have large Black or Hispanic populations. The cases I've heard since ie priests, teachers, child care workers, scout leaders, etc... involved white men the majority of the time. But I'm sure that 757 is right and that's mainly due to the fact that these are the types of stories that make it on the news. And since I don't actively seek out other stories about this, my experience is limited to what I've seen or personally know of myself.

Should check out a documentary called "Deliver us from Evil" about Father Oliver O'Grady who abused loads of kid in 1970's all over the States and was covered up by superiors in the Church. He now lives in suburbs of Dublin, Ireland and gets a monthly cheque from the church... absolutely disgusting human being and is your typical grey-haired old white man like u described! We don't hear about black kids being kidnapped, black men killing their wives or black wives going missing, but they happen. And if we're being honest, the 70% white majority in the U.S. really don't give a shit when they hear about these crimes happening to black people.

Blacks make up about 13% of the population in the U.S. but probably make up less than 1% of Priests, and men in powerful positions in general, which are the type of men that usually make the news.

Add in the fact that blacks have a thing about "Stop snitching", meaning the crimes are much less likely to be reported, and the fact that homosexuality is still taboo in the black community, it makes total sense that we'd hear about whites doing this much more often than blacks.
