I hate the response to an inquiry - "hmmmm....that's a good question.."

If it's such a great question, why don't ya know your job and answer it then!

Had this early this morning as a matter of fact. Vendor charged us twice for the same order last month....called them to ask why and was told "hmmm, that's a good question" followed by "i'll have accounting look into it for you and get right back with you". Received an email less than an hour later saying 'software malfunstion, will be refunding the balance to your account immediately, unless you would like a credit toward your next order instead?" Happens all too often and I'm assuming they get away with that scam a good bit since it's hard to keep up with every single number in a timely manner.
