      Lies My Teacher Told Me

(Explains what was wrong in some history books and some secrets that weren't told. Not just random BS either.)

Pretty good book if you like history

I just finished The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul. It was excellent! It's a must read for anyone that believes in Freedom and Liberty. For those of you that don't know what Ron Paul is all about you need to check out this book. You can likely pick it up at your local Library like I did.

I think I'm going to pick up The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris next. Keep the suggestions coming! This thread needs to live on!

"Replay" by Ken Grimwood.....I've read hundreds, probably even thousands of books, but this is one that I still think of often, decades after reading it. Only book I ever read by this author, and since he's long since passed away, that won't change.

Anyway, awesome tale with a gambling angle to boot.....

Paco mentioned To Kill a Mockingbird. I really enjoyed this one back in HS. Probably the first book I ever read in one sitting.

Opie mentioned The Road. Great book. Movie was just ok.

I like the Stieg Larsson series. Still need to read The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest.

Recently read Worth Dying For by Lee Child. Couldn't put it down. Will be looking forward to reading other "Jack Reacher" novels.

The Stranger by Camus sticks out as a memorable book I've read in the past.

I've enjoyed the Einstein biography by Isaacson; the parts I've read so far. It's a brick and I need to check it out of the library again.

                            Solid choice.

I'm currently reading "Stumbling on Happiness" by Daniel Gilbert. It's pretty interesting. It's not a self-help book. It talks more about how a persons Happiness level pretty much stays the same regardless of what "happens" to them in life.

I am a big fan of James Elroy but I think my favorite is White Jazz. I recently read a pretty good collection of short stories called Dead Boys by Richard Lange. If you like the LA crime noir genre, I would highly recommend it.
