All the "cheap" fast food that is calorie packed and all the food that is advertised on tv. Thailand for example no fast food ads on the TV at least i didnt see any 2007-2008 and cheap healthy food options both street food stalls and sit down options... I lost 56 lbs in the 13 months i lived there. Soo many fat people that need to mix in a salad or two and take a 30 min jog in the morning.

as a canadian , i am shocked at the portions, the medium coke at burger king has to be 24 ounces, and the buffets are amazing for 8.99 , i am not complaining it is great for vacations , but you can't eat like that on a regular basis

But the generalized truth is that Americans are fatter than people in any other country. There's a lot of regional variation, of course. People are less fat where I live than in the mid-west or Texas (obesity capital of the world). And, of course, there's the South in general which in so very many ways weights the average towards less educated, fatter, more conservative, and more religious (a four way tandem that is more than coincidence).
