I could do it for a year no problem, but for a lifetime - No way. I love tasty pieces of animal protein and fat. I would rather give up all plant products for the rest of my life than give up meat and cheeses.
would you become a vegan for $365,000?

#79Unless part of the deal is that you have to Sh\it in a box every day so it can be analzyed, there is no way the payer can confirm you are sticking to the deal. I'd just pocket the money and eat whatever I wanted.Comment -

#85Well if this is the case someone already owes me $1,460,000 because I've been vegan for four years. I do it because it's the most ethical way to live - no harm to any living, senient creature. It's better for the animals, better for the environment, and best for my health
BTW Crustyme, those burgers aren't even Vegan lol. There's a different kind of Boca burgers that are specifically vegan.Comment -

#102Something I don't understand is this desire to play God. How does one choose which living organism is acceptable to die so that you may live? Obviously plants are living organisms. They reproduce. You eat their freaking children. They have defense mechanisms. They grow their roots in whatever direction is needed so that they can receive their nutrients in order to survive. So it's okay to kill something (so that you can live) as long as that thing does not have a face?? Doesn't that seem a little bit strange?
It's all part of the cycle of life. Something MUST die in order for something else to live. How many animals each year are indirectly killed so that vegetarians/vegans can get the fruits/vegetables/grains needed in order to survive? All the land that is destroyed in order to make room for more farms (which drives animals away from their natural habitats). Or the amount of small animals that are killed by the harvesting machines. These animals (that do have faces) are indirectly killed so that you may eat your salad.
So, what's the difference? I just don't get it.Comment -
