which version of firefox do you use

SRWare Iron, based on Chrome, has become my browser of choice. Firfox has just become too bloated.

Good to know. I haven't had any issues with ads in Chrome but also haven't been looking at very much porn lately. Anyone have any ideas why such a good browser is missing such an obvious feature?

I've been using 4 since it was in beta. My only complaint is the memory leakage. This has always been a problem for Mozilla, esp. on OS X.

You talking about "Private Browsing Mode"? It was in the older versions also, not sure how far back though.

I use Firefox 4. Faster and like the "App Tab" option along with the hidden menu bar.

Why? What's wrong with the hardware acceleration?

If you have a low end video card, and having issues with videos and such, try disabling it to see if it helps. With it on, it transfers most of the browsers graphic material (animations, videos, pictures, etc.) to the GPU instead of taxing the CPU.

i use firefox 3... give me reasons to goto 4 - right now I hate the memory leak as after few hours and multiple tabs the computer starts to crawl. does this change in firefox 4?

Right click on the top bar, un-check the menu bar, and check tabs on top. Cleans it up, and gives you more viewable area in your browser.

Not sure why it doesn't seem faster to you, and how is it unstable?

I noticed a bit more speed when I got it on the release, and it is always stable.

3.6.16 only because it uses the Norton 360 toolbar with it. When the new version is compatible with that I will use the new version.

Basically the same but i use avg tool bar that connects to my facebook, weather, and gmail account.
btw buddy, get rid of norton, it just slows down your computer, basically any other main virus program out there is just as good and doesnt slow it down.

You can easily fix this by changing a setting in the config of Firefox.

Here is how:

type this is the address bar- about:config
You will get a warning so click on I'll be careful, I promise!
Type in the Filter box: browser.showQuitWarning
You will see the current value is false - right click on false and change it to Toggle

You will now be asked to save your tabs when you exit Firefox.

wow... just checked and I'm still on 3.6.13. although I usually use safari. I guess I'll upgrade, though I can't imagine it being any faster then it already is. I have really fast internet though so everything loads pretty much instantly. Where are people noticing the speed increase? Maybe I will notice when I change.

Seems like alot of praise for Chrome though. Looks like I will have to try that out too.
