#74yeah I was kidding/sarcastic about the biggest loser thing.
but for real, I've seen.. and unfortunately done it myself a few times....
where a former athlete or highly trained/disciplined gym rat. loses half a year or more due to serious injury, or some crazy drastic bad change in life like death in the family or divorce ect ect. or in my case both of those and laziness.
and then when they get back in the gym, muscle memory, old habits, intelligent diet and exercise get them back in shape in a few short months.
kinda like the Colorado Experiment and Casey Viator. I mean what Art Jones did with him there should not in any way be physiologically possible. Even with juicing to the gills.
but there is somthing about regaining old formComment -

I know I have done something.
The thread title is "Let's get Healthy SBR". That makes it seem like it includes you. Is there a reason everyone on SBR should get healthy and not you?

#83Just finished the first month of Atkins. Feel much better, my clothes fit better, I have much more energy, going to the gym about 4 days a week, walking when I play golf. It was somewhere on this forum where I read about Atkins which I had done for a while many years ago. Haven't had a drink since March 28, and its not a big deal. Of course my wife goes to Old Chicago two or three times a week still, so my diet hasn't bothered her a bit. And not eating carbs is easier to get used to than you might think. Anyway this is a good thread. best of luck to all.Comment -

#87The first week or so was pretty different from what I was used to eating. Rice, tortillas, pasta, pizza, chips, and other non-permissible carbs was a big part of my diet. The reason that it is worth it is because my energy level is so much higher. So at least right now, I just don't eat carbs and it's really not a big deal. If there is a part about this that is tedious it is eating salads every day to get to the 12 to 15 grams of carbs each day from the permissible vegetables. Been eating a lot more asparagus than I ever used to, trying artichokes, fresh green beans. Other parts make up for it, two or three times a week I have two eggs with two pieces of bacon for breakfast, something I never used to do, and in total the protien part is good. I am 54. I am 6'1", I weigh a lot, but less than a month ago.Comment -
