Trump is leaving Zelensky no choice but to end this war.

You have it all wrong . Russia will eventually have to come crawling to the negotiating table when they run dangerously low on soldiers and military equipment .Comment -

#19779CNN’s data guru, Harry Enten, broke it down:
“Do Americans like the way that Trump is handling his job compared to how they felt about Joe Biden,” he said while showing a graph highlighting the net approval rating of each president when it came to the handling of the Russia-Ukraine situation. “You look at Joe Biden back in 2024, he was 22 points underwater, holy cow? You look at Donald Trump, it’s just a different planet entirely. The gulf between these two is wider than the Gulf of America or Mexico depending on which side of the aisle you stand on. (Trump) is at plus-2.
“So, look at this particular point, Americans are giving Donald Trump the benefit of the doubt,” Enten continued. “He’s doing considerably better than Joe Biden was doing on the handling of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. On this simple question, I think Americans are saying, ‘OK, Donald Trump is doing alright on this.’”

#19780VANCE: "Zelensky, he goes to Europe and a lot of our European friends puff him up. They say you know, you're a freedom fighter. You need to keep fighting forever."
“Fighting forever with what? With whose money? With whose ammunition, and with whose lives? The president is actually taking a much more realistic perspective and saying, this can't go on forever."
"We can't fund this thing forever. The Ukrainians can't fight forever. So let's bring this thing to a peaceful settlement."Comment -

Scott Jennings offers up some sage advice for Zelensky:
“I don't know who he's getting his political advice from, but he needs to stop listening.
It sounds like maybe Chris Murphy and other Senate Democrats."
"If you want to understand how to deal with Donald Trump, those are the wrong clowns to consult with.
”Maybe for balloon animals at a child's birthday party, but not for geopolitical advice."

#19787Trump appoints Musk in charge of DOGE to "fix" Biden's economy: TSLA stock trades $479
Today after a few months of Musk hard work trying to "fix" Biden's economy: TSLA stock trades at $261.
It only took 2 months to "fix" Biden's economy and tank his company stock by 50% and lose in 150 billion dollars in net wealth.
Keep it up guys. Let's "fix" Biden's economy because everyone's 401ks have tanked since Trusk took over.Last edited by pavyracer; 03-04-25, 03:01 PM.Comment -

#19790Sounds to me like Starmer told Zelensky to fix the mess he created .
Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.
Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.

#19802Again, where did the average person have it better up to that point in history, and why were they moving here and not there?
Capitalism is what happens when people have a lot of individual freedom and private property rights. How many monopolies can you name that happened without government intervention and protection? I can think of 1, Alcoa Aluminum, and it came about because it was able to operate at such a low price, no company could afford to enter the market to compete with them. One of the best ways to prevent monopolies is through free trade.
My argument is the most progressive, we should protect individual freedom and private property rights. That's the best way to increase the standard of living for people.
There won't be blood in the streets when the average people are doing better than they've ever done before if we would adopt a more capitalist system.
So your saying is what we have is capitalism? I thought you were in favor of non-government intervention and deregulation.
This comment is vague (individual freedom and private property rights) if it means what Trump and Musk are doing, it's not improving the standard of living. How can you have freedom without economic freedom?
If thing's keep going the way they are, there is going to be too much blood in the streets. We will have all the same fights we had in the past that gave the Avg person the rights we have today that are being taken away to roll us back to the 1800's.Last edited by khicks26; 03-04-25, 05:52 PM.Comment -

#19808Dude your question is irrelevant, people lived in squalor there and moved here to live in a different squalor. It's not the gotcha you think it is.
So your saying is what we have is capitalism? I thought you were in favor of non-government intervention and deregulation.

We've moved away from capitalism. I know you've said this is late stage capitalism, but it's more late stage democracy. We're at the point where people trade freedom and property so they can have more temporary comfort promised by the politicians.
It will improve the standard of living in the long term if we can get the deficit and debt under control. We're on an unsustainable path, and we're going to have to make changes or this is all going under. I'm assuming you don't mean economic freedom but the economic means to do something. Those are totally different things, having power and being free from the power of others.
Yeah, there will be if we keep losing freedom and private property rights. We were about 150,000 voters in 3 states from having President Harris, a few swing races in the House and Senate from having VP Walz break the tie to ban the filibuster and pack the court with judges that will put me in jail for speaking out about the Harris Administration.
Outside of the occasional candy bar, I don't think I eat any of that stuff.Comment -
