#22896It must be an eye opener to fight so hard to normalize bigotry, and then realize that the bigotry you cheered for no longer seems like such a great idea when it is pointed back at you in the exact same way you have been using it.
Go back to refusing to accept any bigotry and your problems like this will also go away.
The people always push back when the powers that be go too far. You can't stop this with even more MAGA extremism. This is a signal it's time to consolidate and win your battle. Not keep digging a bigger hole.Last edited by Optional; Yesterday, 11:50 AM..Comment -

#22898It does feel like some positive progress this week.
Let's hope the price is not long term social problems eh. We can't let bigotry become normalized or this is where it will go..Comment -

#22899Thom Tillis says he will retire following Trump attacks
Sen. Thom Tillis, a two-term North Carolina Republican who was expected to contest one of 2026's toughest Senate races, said Sunday he will not seek re-election.
Tillis made the announcement after voting "no" on a procedural vote to advance President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" — the cornerstone of his domestic policy agenda. Trump subsequently attacked Tillis in a series of social media posts.
“In Washington over the last few years, it's become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species,“ Tillis said in a statement.
He continued: “As many of my colleagues have noticed over the last year, and at times even joked about, I haven't exactly been excited about running for another term. That is true since the choice is between spending another six years navigating the political theatre and partisan gridlock in Washington or spending that time with the love of my life Susan, our two children, three beautiful grandchildren, and the rest of our extended family back home. It's not a hard choice, and I will not be seeking re-election."
Tillis' retirement sets up what could be a wild and crowded GOP primary in the Tar Heel State. On the Democratic side, Rep. Wiley Nickel is already in the race, and national party leaders are hoping ex-Gov. Roy Cooper enters the race.

I can only assume you've been reading biased opinion pieces that suit your views. What's clear is that you have have near zero context of the everyday American experience. You've been led to believe that MAGA hates immigrants or minorities or gays or whatever special interest group is making the noise ... it all couldn't be further from the truth.
And btw, Mamdani is as much of a gift to the GOP (and Trump) as Biden's debate performance was last year. A mayor cannot raise state taxes of any kind and most NY State Democrats, including the governor, have to distance themselves from him. This is the radical left's problem, no one else's.

surely that hardly needs disputing?
coming off the horrendous covid response by Trump's administration
was similar when Obama had to cope with the GFC fallout
Both of them turned it around and left the economy in great shape .... only to have it ****** up by Trump each timeComment -

Trump got rid of institutionalized bigotry, ie. DEI. And it wasn't "MAGA extremism" - it was simply common sense that most of America agreed with.

And here we have an openly bigoted policy platform being voted in by the other side.
That's what I call normalization.
It won't get better by both sides leaning further into it..Comment -

Nothing to say about the content?
What do you think about both extreme ends of both parties now openly cheering for bigoted policies like this guy is?
Concerned at all about the normalization of unequal treatment by race being acceptable?

I was replying to your reply to a NY Post page where a communist, and quite possibly the next Mayor of NY, wants to increase taxes on people based on the color of their skin.
I have always been consistent that skin color shouldn't play a role in things like that.
Trying to defend his statement that White people should pay more taxes is silly.
I have always been against the extremists on the Left and the Right. Everyone should. Elon was right when he said he didn't change from being a democrat, the party went so far Left that it left him. He's right of course. The Left has lost its mind as we all have seen lately. They watch a guy compete against women in sports and try and defend it. Its impossible to do so obviously because any normal person knows women and men are different. Pretending to be a woman doesn't make you a woman. Never has and never will. Same goes with so many things such as affirmative action and DEI. You can't get much more racist than that and finally the supreme court even realized this fact.
Mamdani is an extreme Lefty. He's a disgrace.Last edited by DwightShrute; Today, 01:13 AM.Comment -
