That sweet government job that you’ve loved because you can work 8 hours a day and fish on the weekends has been slated for a MAGA Schedule F slot because it controls funding for contracts that will go to Republican donors, so you’re fired without cause or any union protections.

This election result is certainly not what I’d hoped for and a far cry from what I had expected.
On the surface it made zero sense to me that Americans could choose to elect such a loser with so many faults over a highly credentialled opponent who’d conducted a stunning electoral campaign after obliterating him in a debate which he then chickened out of following up on , whilst the loser had sparse turnouts at his hate rallies with bored attendees regularly departing early and some being abandoned late at night in the middle of a desert because he just doesn’t care about them after keeping them waiting for up to 3 hours!
After giving it a lot of thought the answer has finally dawned upon me. It’s really quite simple:
IT’S THE ECONOMY STUPID!!!!
Most American’s pay only scant regard, if even that, to the news and what’s really going on in economics and politics.
And what little they hear in the main comes from the likes of Fox and their chosen social media platforms which have been infiltrated by right wing and anti-American propaganda.
When you analyse the breakdown of surveys of election exit polling there is some very revealing information.
Leaving aside the horrific white supremacy influence where whites, including women preferred the rapist abortion denier over a highly credentialed coloured woman, the fact that higher educated voters who do pay attention to the news and politics voted appropriately.
Putting that together with the “IT’S THE ECONOMY STUPID” doctrine it all makes perfect sense.
Where do all these lesser educated Trump supporters get their news about the economy from?
Almost certainly they didn’t ever get to learn that the American economy is the envy of the world.
Fox and foreign dominated propaganda doesn’t repeat that on their preferred “news” platforms.
As a result of the lies and misinformation they have been fed they falsely blamed the Biden/Harris administration for the higher cost of living they have experienced.
And thus we have this debacle and potential end of American democracy under a fascist administration.
On a more personal front following this election, my wife and I have decided not to return to America.
And those in my family residing in Florida had already decided to leave De Santis’s horrifically corrupt freedom denying State.
