#10573Please tell me how the hell a CEO making $30 million a year is going to get away with telling the IRS it was all tips.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeYou obviously are confused what a tip is and what is isn't. It isn't salary, like your post above. Here's the IRS' definition. You're smart. I'm sure you can come up with dozens of legal ways people can get paid via tips.Comment -

#10574That's right. I am not a 15 year old girl and I am proud of the fact that, unlike you, I don't have the first penetrating clue what goes on at Taylor Swift concerts.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeObviously, you are not a Swifty.
If Taylor Swift starts serving drinks during her concert then the new law would require her to break down how much money she made on tips versus how much money she made on revenue from the concert itself.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeShe actually does lap dances at her concerts. She may not serve alcohol today but if that means you're going to tip her, why not?
The IRS would say "ok you made $10 million on ticket sales from the concert, and $3 in tips. So of that $10,000,003 you made last night, $10 million of it is fully taxable." The IRS will NOT say, "ok all $10 million is just one big tip!!"
Fine by me, you already solved my problem.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeIf you tip me nothing, then maybe I don't show up the next time you need my help.
No, they really wouldn't.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeMost companies will tip ridiculously well in the case I just gave you.
YES YOU DO HAVE TO REPORT WHAT I GAVE YOU BECAUSE IT IS SALARY.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeBUT the biggest issue is that if tips are not taxable, I DON'T HAVE TO REPORT THAT YOU TIPPED ME OR HOW MUCH YOU GAVE ME. How do you not see that this is an awful idea.
There is no reality in existence where the IRS is going to look at a computer technician and say "oh he makes his money in tips, not salary." All you are doing is coming up with different ways people might cheat on their taxes.Comment -

#10575Study your history...Originally posted by BriGuyWe can deport them. Anyone being honest about this situation - which you clearly are not - knows that one party fights illegal immigration and the other party encourages it.
If you were honest, you would admit that Trump killed a deal that would have discouraged illegal immigration. He got the party to tow the line and the deal didn't get done. So now thousands upon thousands of illegals can still come in. He wants to push it when/if he gets back in office. Well, you know what happens then. The dems will fight him and it will never get done. This is what these 2 parties do.
Look up Obama's first term in office. He also tried to bring a bill to reduce illegal immigration. Republicans said nope. George W Bush, who understood immigration probably more than any other president tried several times. Democrats AND his own party Republicans turned him down. Fukking Republicans didn't want to support his program. Fukk them. So stop with the false notion that Republicans are fighting illegal immigration. They may have the bigger grandstand but they are just as bad as the Dems on this issue.Comment -

#10576What resources are you going to give states to find these folks and deport them? What prevents them from just coming back? Rinse and repeat. As a taxpayer, how much are you willing to spend to fix it? You already want to give waiters and bartenders a tax break. It cost money to enforce deportation and it is not cheap. It's cheaper to have them live, work, pay taxes in a sanctuary city.Originally posted by BriGuyWe can deport them. Why do you think I would be dishonest? I'm giving you MY opinion. You may not agree with it. I don't subscribe to the 2 party system, even though you and others think I'm a democrat. I'm not. I know at least a dozen corporate tax lawyers through the years. These guys oversee billion dollar companies. I know some guys that know the tax code inside and out. They know everything about income, wages, etc., that I can't even begin to think I know. You give them a loophole, they immediately find a way to exploit it. Setting up entities in different states and countries for that matter. The government will never be stupid enough to allow any income, including tips to not be taxed.
Now I can see Trump and Harris saying they would not tax tips under a certain amount, say $30k but that won't help those people anyway. It's grandstanding by both of them. There's other ways that would be much more effective in helping the working poor. How about increasing child tax credit?Comment -

Answer for yourself this question. Out of the last 5 immigration programs to discourage illegals, how many did not pass because of the one party you jerk off too? Let's see your answer mister I know my history.
Then answer... of the major immigration laws that have passed since 1960's, how many were from Dems or Republicans?

#10590CA Sheriff that Harris campaign featured in 'Tough on the Border' ad absolutely torches Kamala, references clip used in ad:
"In that particular situation, she came in. She didn't even shake law enforcement's hands. She did the sound bite, and she left."
Of course that’s what she did.
Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux: "She absolutely does not have my support. Here in California, we want a leader who's going to support law enforcement. As you know, she helped support BLM rioters trying to bail him out of jail. She was a huge supporter of defunding the police. When you get to that little task force there, collecting that methamphetamine, it was a lot of local law enforcement working hard to bring the drugs off the streets."Comment -

So it wasn't because it was full of pork such as billions to the Ukraine, and it did nothing to stop the illegal invasion of immigrants? You mean to tell me that only parts of the bill only kicked in once 5,000 people illegally entered the country, and even then there was a clause which allowed it to be voided. It was a just a show?
Or maybe ... They had over 3 years to fix the border. Or at least try. Only once the polls showed that illegal immigration was near or at the top of voter's concerns, then and only then, did the democrats decide to do something about it. Or pretend to. They didn't need to pass any new fake bill in reality. All they had to do is reinstate Trump's border polices. You know, the ones Biden bragged about cancelling on his first day in office.
Wait, it gets even better. Then the democrats go to all their surrogates at the MSM and tell them to push the narrative that Trump killed the border bill. Trump bad. Democrats are all for a secure border. Kamala did a wonderful job as the border czar. Errrrrr I mean, she never was the border czar anyways but she did a great job. Emphasize that it was bipartisan for that extra kick. People like that. Don't mention the fine print in the bill. The people are too stupid to understand or too lazy to look into it. Trust us. It worked for J6, the "very fine people" thing, remember "Bloodbath"? LOL, immigrants are animals, and of course Russia!

#10594They pay firms (with some really smart but shady people working for them) thousands of dollars to figure out loopholes and work arounds and show them how to hide money from the IRS, to save them millions in taxes and keep them out of jail. The system is set up for the rich.Originally posted by BriGuyNo, they really won't. As I stated before: the IRS has a set definition regarding what a tip is and who is eligible to receive them. There is no way whatsoever some corporate CEO is going to tell the IRS "oh yeah my $30 million salary last year was all tips."
That would be a great way to get audited and end up in jail.

If there is a way to use it to their advantage, the people they pay all that money will find it.
