#10261Originally posted by DwightShruteThat's an interesting thought regarding the public better off not knowing. I have heard it before. I think its better to take those on individually rather than a whole. I remember the ass-wipe fights in the stores. Heck, I just finished the last roll from the crate of 3-ply I order back in 2020.
Do you think its possible they did any of this on purpose? I mean, doing gain-of-function research is insane to begin with. How can any human agree to doing this in a lab knowing what could happen if it gets out? Even it was accidentally leaked from the lab in Wuhan, there are tons questions that haven't been answered still. Also, what does it say about the MSM and the tech companies who wouldn't allow anyone to even ask the question as to whether it came from a lab or not? If you did, you were banned from social media and called a conspiracy theorist.
There are a lot of evil people in the world. There always have been and always will be. What's worse is the amount of people in positions of power who are evil. Somehow those same people have convinced millions of others they aren't. They are righteous. We should never question their motives. They are do-gooders and they know what's best.
Lots of horrible people in power. No doubt.
And I think there are plenty of things not done on purpose but happen. That is IMO when decisions are made as to how to handle things. As a what if, what if Wuhan is true? Would people in the U.S. go out and start wanting to hurt Chinese people? Attack them? I know, that sounds nuts to us. But, if we think about it, it probably would be happening somewhere in the U.S. as we certainly have our fair share of people that might do that. Look no further than that messed up kid that tried to shoot Trump. So, should the governing body we have keep the entire story from the public so as to not create the tension it undoubtedly would to some people ? I think the answer might be yes. And if that is correct, it makes sense that truisms like that can be terrible for us as a society.
If these got broken down and answers were demanded, well, that just cannot happen it doesn't seem. People who are not privy to all the facts cannot be expected to give sound answers to any given question. And, we all know that some pencils are much sharper than others if you know what I mean. Not knocking anyone, it's just a reality.
So, while I cannot get into any deep dives on anything in particular, you know how as adults, we, or some that found out something rather disturbing decided to not tell the kids for their own good ? I think this, is that. Wide spread panic and hysteria would certainly show at some point, somewhere, because of something. Like the crazy toilet paper. So the decision gets made to hold back certain info based on that. It's like a " need to know basis", which is decided way up the ladder.
For all the arguing, sometimes hatred, and name calling that we see in politics, is it not a little odd that the public doesn't see but little dribs and drabs from certain people on both sides ? Seems everyone is in lock step when it comes to what NOT to say.
Like 9/11. The plane crashed in Pennsylvania? Just happened to crash with F-16's surrounding it while in route to crash into the Capital? Um, OK. UFO's and area 51. Not a word. But... American patriots were heroes on that plane in Penn. So what happened? I don't know and would not say anymore than I have if I did. But, as an American, you don't buck the system when it comes to patriots, and nor should you as we have all been taught since childhood. So we come together as one and forget politics during that terrible time. And, we as a country become stronger. That's good stuff ! And much needed at the time.
The MSM is , and must be, all on board and I am sure they are. It's not like Jake Tapper or Sean Hannity get a phone call , it's more like the networks don't cross that line. And if this is correct, they shouldn't. I guess. They don't question the pentagon when a statement of this kind of magnitude gets released very often if at all. And if it is questioned, a portion of it might be, but not the main topic. At least that is how it looks too me.
I do not necessarily disagree with this. The old " the masses are asses" registers loud and clear often enough for me to accept that. At least to some degree. And maybe it is best if the public is left without definitive answers. But I have to assume that it does happen. And when it does, all those Republicans and Democrats who call each other out during campaigning and get the voters all stirred up, or during congressional sessions to stir up their base, proof positive in this thread, all know where to draw the line and become one body of work that comes together and is in lock step when it comes to very sensitive government issues and trying their best to protect all the citizens of the U.S. when the situation calls for it.
That's my take.Comment -

2) He supports sanctuary cities.
3) He signed a bill giving licenses to illegal immigrants and expanded healthcare for illegal immigrants.
4) He has been soft on crime.
5) He supported defund the police and in Minnesota crime has increased by 21% since he has been governor.
6) And like Kamal Harris, Tim Walz is anti – American energy. He signed a bill to ban carbon-based fuels in Minnesota by 2040.

And people like yourself WERE DEFINITELY 100% selfish. You were desperate to convince others to risk their lives for your political battle point. #10271Originally posted by Hareeba!Elon Musk is not just the Trump-supporting owner of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. It turns out he is also one of the platform’s biggest peddlers of election-related disinformation, according to a new report published Thursday by the Centre for Countering Digital Hate.
The report from CCDH, a nonprofit organization focused on protecting civil liberties and holding social media companies accountable, found that 50 false or misleading posts shared by Musk on X between Jan. 1 and July 31 of this year racked up a staggering 1.2 billion views. The group categorized the posts under three main themes: false claims that Democrats are “importing voters” through illegal immigration (the bulk of the content that researchers examined); false claims that voting is vulnerable to fraud; and a manipulated video, also known as a deepfake, of Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to the report, while independent fact-checkers found the content in all of those 50 posts shared by Musk to be false or misleading, none of the posts in question contained a “community note,” X’s user-generated fact-checking system that the company promises can contextualize “potentially misleading posts.” Just this week, Musk claimed in a post on X that community notes offer “a clear and immediate way to refute anything false in the replies,” adding, “the same is not true for legacy media who lie relentlessly, but there is no way to counter their propaganda.”
Imran Ahmed, CEO of the CCDH, said in a statement accompanying the report that Musk “is abusing his privileged position as owner of a small, but politically influential, social media platform to sow disinformation that generates discord and distrust.”
A new report reveals the vast reach of anti-immigrant and anti-Harris disinformation shared by the Trump-backing mogul.

Dwight is being dumb on purpose. He knows the vaxx prevented millions of people from dying but he is so disingenuous, he keeps saying the obvious, that the vaxx didn’t stop you from getting it. What’s even dumber, is that his own hero, Trump told him to get the job and he still didn’t do it. He even quotes 99% chance of surviving from COVID, when you do the math and that 1% equates to millions upon millions of people dying. Lastly, he keeps talking about how the vaccines were discovered so quickly but isn’t informed enough to know the MRNA drugs have been around almost 2 decades.
but why would we expect anything less from a guy living on an island, who gets all his news from Tucker Carlson the entertainer.
I don't think the vax was perfect. Or even very good. But I do think it has been shown to have been good enough given the fast time frame it needed to be developed in..Comment -

I have changed many opinions about certain subjects over the years. It wasn't easy to do because admitting you were wrong is difficult.
The things I have always been consistent on is the government's number one job is to look after its people first. The needy, not the clueless. That includes making sure the streets are safe. And freedom of Speech.
Its naive to think these public servants will be the finest examples of integrity in society, but putting your country first should be something we can all get behind. Spending trillions overseas nation building and allowing countless millions to simply walk into the country is insanity. The Left doesn't feel the same. They believe borders are racist. I mean seriously, how are sanctuary cities even a thing? Disgraceful. Anyone who supports sanctuary cities and open borders are a disgrace to their country and the citizens they are supposed to represent.Comment -

#10278Originally posted by OptionalWell angry women and weak men make up a part of society. Like a true REP hardliner you speak like those people do not deserve any voice in your "only strong men and silent women allowed" model.
"Liberalism is a mental disorder" is a laughable line. Liberalism itself is all about fair treatment for all. Something the selfish Ayn Rand corrupted conservatives can't stand. Sharing for the common good is a "mental disorder" you say.
I think you say that because you have no valid criticism to make, and the contrast of base level liberalism v base level conservatism makes you look like selfish hater.
Same challenge to you as 777. What is about liberal thinking that you think attracts the mentally ill and scum to it? All the sharing and caring the philosophy pushes?
I am not saying liberal thinking equates to mental illness. Not all the time. I am referring to a mental disorder. A mental disorder is thinking its perfectly fine to be a man or woman and then a man or women next day. A mental disorder is allowing your kids to dress up as cats and dogs and go to school. A mental disorder is the school allowing kids to dress up as cats and dogs. A mental disorder is thinking its perfectly acceptable to allow men to compete against women in sports. A mental disorder is saying how proud they are of a man beating women. A mental disorder is allowing porn to be taught to children in school. A mental disorder is looking a Biden speak and act like he has for the last 5 years and saying he is physically and mentally sound.
