For the Afghans is a much slower process to be evacuated. After making it to the airport they have to be vetted and get visas before coming to America. Also the first paragraph says Biden will keep the military there beyond August 31 if Americans are still there. If they were mostly gone, you would think they could sure as hell get them all willing to leave in 13 days.

The negotiated deadline for final withdrawal was May 1 2021. This date was agreed in February 2020. Plans should have been in place to withdraw all non-military personnel and Afghan civilians 6 weeks before that deadline so that military personnel and equipment could be removed in good order and time without having any other tasks. Not only were civilians not all out well before the deadline, or even at the deadline, but they were still there 15 weeks after the deadline. The fault for this lies solely with Biden. It is an epic failure.
