So this was a first. Hiking, about 11 KM round trip, but A LOT of aggressive elevation, to some remote waterfalls, 90 & humid.
I've played 2.5 hour tennis matches in Florida heat, no problem. Sweat pours out, I can feel the body change, I water up, Gatorade Gummi, good to go. Usually a 6 pound water loss.
Today I was literally 40 meters from the exit, exhausted of course, barely moving....and I went down, hard...almost fell off the fukking cliff (300+ feet straight down). Took about 15 minutes, water, a random apple from a little girl that walked past me, a salt thing and I was able to limp to the top...got in car, cooled down. Found a dude w shrimp & Fresca, figured that's all I'd need, but no head was still light.
Weighed myself at hotel, 9 pounds of water weight lost. Wholly shit! Had no fukkin clue. Called home and doc said I'm lucky to be alive, said internals will shut down when stuff gets diluted and/or you have severe dehydration issues. 9 pounds lighter, and that was after the shrimp and Fresca!
Anyone else push themselves like this, in cardio or sport? What is the 'feeling' when you know your done?? I thought I was a dead man.
