[HELP] I have a really weird type of insominia; been going on for two months...
    (lil intro)
This year i started focusing & analyzing ALL my bets before staking, and inputting each one into my spreadsheet. I wear glasses, so watching numbers and lines all day makes me sleepy; I used to take naps (usually 30 min depends sometimes). As some of you already know I mainly bet on Tennis and Soccer; there's always action. I find the best way to win consistently is to follow the tournament closely; you will automatically find some value bets (sometimes by intuition too).
I noticed that whenever there is an important match, I would wake up (like my body would wake me up). I don't use alarms. This been going on more and more and I only take naps now i don't sleep like normally we would...

    First off, stop taking naps.

It could be causing the issues, or at least causing a positive feedback into the problems that may be caused by other issues.

The next thing is what exaclty is the problem? Falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early? These are all insomnia.

"I don't sleep like normally we would..." is not necessarily insomnia.

If and when you do actually try to get help (not from SBR) you'll probably be asked to cut the napping, it's not helping.

If you think it's related to your gambling schedule, capping schedule, or stress schedule that revolves around betting, it is something you can control. Use time management. Use an alarm, get up earlier than normal, use that time to cap. If you're more prepared, you then you will be less stressed win or lose. Whether or not you even feel stressed, this is true. It's not always a conscious issue.

Plus, getting up earlier, and at the same time, will help regulate your schedule. Remember, it's not about when you go to bed, it's about when you wake up. If you wake up early enough to fill the day, can get away safely without a nap (don't wreck a car or anything because of mid day tiredness), and have sports carry you into the evening, you will have an easier time getting rest at night.

If it's a medical issue, I can't help, but if it's about gambling and the psychology therein, I don't know of anyone with more expertise, more well read, with more writing about, and more education than yours truly. At least I haven't seen them yet.

    Good Luck.

      Thank you, KVB

I thank you wholeheartedly for taking the time to reply me.

Today once again i made the mistake of taking naps, but on the bright side I started doing some cardio exercises and some few min running on treadmill.

Just to be clear the main problem was that I was not getting enough sleep like sleeping for more than 5 hours per day.

Dont listen to that other guy. Taking two or three naps a week is very good for your heart. Keep them to like 30-45 mins....nothing longer.

Make sure you get checked for sleep apnea as that will cause you terrible health problems if left undiagnosed and untreated.

Get yourself in a sleep routine and keep a journal if you have to that will keep track of your sleep habits. Routine and repetitive nightly habits will help you feel more relaxed.

        Good luck

Exercise a very good idea as well, especially cardio. Also remember that your sleep needs will change as you age. Almost everytime you need less. If you were getting 6 hours with some naps you might doing it "healthy enough" but it's definitely true that not getting enough sleep is harmful. Few people get what they need sleepwise these days but if you are still getting 5 good hours with naps you may not be all that far out of whack.

Exercising just might do the trick, by itself as it will lead to so many more benefits including more energy.

Vitard must have read my post, of course, but not yours, of course. When you say all you do is nap I'm going to assume you aren't talking about "3 naps a week."

This is one of the problems with trying to generate an SBR discussion when guys like Moronos, Vitard, etc. want to pollute the board.

I apologize on behalf of them, they just want troll and aren't intelligent enough to realize what they are doing.

Be careful with KVB....he smoke joints and takes gummies to fall asleep. Crackheads just pass out.

You want good healthy sleep? Check with your doctor to make sure you don’t have any medical conditions that is interrupting your sleep. That is critical.

I would say, do that first, eat healthy and exercise. Maintain a routine. This will all help you. Don’t listen to drugged out hippies, listen to Vitterd.

When you wake up do you instantly go to your computer to bet the important match? Yes? That's why you're waking up. Tell yourself that you will stay in bed regardless until a set hour. Then you have no subconscious reason to wake up.

If you are going to be getting up and watching tennis and soccer at all hours for betting, you are not going to ever have regular sleep. The body is designed to sleep at night when it is dark. If you are going to prioritize betting over sleep, you are not going to have a regular sleep pattern.

Unless you are live betting, record the matches and watch them when you get up. If you are live betting in the middle of the night, you will probably not be getting any sleep. You have a gambling problem.

Haven’t read the thread so not sure if smoking weed has been mentioned but do it if you want to sleep. And exercise is good.

Sit in a sauna or hot tub for 20 mins about 60- 90 minutes before you wanna fall asleep. You'll sleep like a baby!

Don't work out after 6pm....your body will keep pumping energy for hours.

Don't eat after 6pm either, keeps your thermogenics down

                                    Its not insomnia.

The term you're looking for is: polyphasic sleep.

Live betting is a problem. The lines may be weak but the problem is you have to watch the games. When you become the greatest gambler in the world, eventually you have to make choices because there are literally not enough hours in the day because you will literally be winning 24-7 non-stop.

When you reach this point, you have to decide how you want to bet and what is worth your time or when you have made so much money that you should just quit.

I think most successful gambler can win at live betting but they don't want to expend the hours because they will wind up not able to sleep at night.

The problem here has been misdiagnosed.

Agreed. That's why I stick with certain sports and stick to a schedule. Can't do it all.

Very simple your betting schedule is changing the wiring of your brain. You probably are messing with the release of seretonin which leads to the production of melatonin which is the stuff that makes you fall asleep. Your body can't relax when your heart rate is elevated from your bets

Then continue this for 18 hours straight... lie about your bets and fight with everybody at SBR... If this doesn't put you to sleep then nothing will, it works for Vitty, tell him how much sleep you got last night vittered!
