this past weekend, during a typical love/bang fest with the better half, this little NIN tune came up on the playlist.....
kinda cracked me up mid-pound, as I hadn't heard it in a while, and thought of the title and how this grammy winning song (1996) would play in today's woke world of cancelling anything that -- despite the lyrics not dealing with pickin' cotton or images of aunt jemima -- has a title that might strike a negative chord with a certain segment of the population.....
no thought of racism or cancelling Trent Reznor accompanied Happiness in Slavery when it was released in the early nineties (if I recall correctly), but today's society -- in which a certain deranged segment has magically turned 75 million plus people into evil racists, segregationists, white supremacists and nazis -- would probably ban the shit immediately for having such a title......
life was easier before woke pussies like bitcherd and tds-laden imbeciles like dante began to trapes around spewing their idiocy......
here's the grammy winning performance, primarily gaining support among those who hand out such awards due to reznor's keyboard failing him, but he nevertheless plows forward with the song, improvising and making noise with it not by playing the keys, but by pounding the entire damn thing into stage scaffolding to get "music" out of it..... great performance, no doubt......
you all know I love me some NIN like jerry jones loves him some glory hole, and many a woman wandering around texas and cali right now can harken back to their best orgasms of their lives being doled out to them to a NIN soundtrack with me somewhere in the mix doin' what I do best, but I doubt the woke folks over at the Grammies would be giving a tune named happiness in slavery any consideration in our fukked up nation today.........
