The Top 6 Worst European Countries (population 335 Million; Total Deaths: 170k)
    Germany - 84M
    Spain - 46.6M
    United Kingdom - 68M
    France - 65M
    Italy - 60.4M
    Belgium -11.5M

So despite having approx. 4 million fewer people than these countries I just listed, America has 55k more deaths and many more cases and hospitalizations.

I agree with you to a point though. In the beginning people were comparing the United States to South Korea. That's just dumb. South Korea has basically one major population center (Seoul) while the United States has like over 20 spread out across 4 time zones. Just like I think it's dumb to compare a country of 10M (Sweden) to the United States. Still yet, Sweden had one of the highest death rates per capita. It just had fewer deaths because there are only 10M people in the country.

I'm not one of these people that picks a side, left or right...then digs in my trench and fights until the end no matter what evidence comes out. I don't really like either side so I try to stay as objective as I can.

As for your comment on hospitals getting money, that is very twisted on how it is reported. Yes, hospitals do get money from the government. The coronavirus relief legislation created a 20% premium or add-on. With that said, do you really think people doing the paperwork give a flying f***. It's not going in their pockets. Does anyone making this claim have any idea how death certificates are filed or how insurance, medicaid, and premiums work? Yeah....that's my point.
The comparison was between the 6 countries you mentioned not all of Europe but most of the decisions about shutdowns and nursing homes have been made at the state level, not by the federal government.

      That’s true.

New York did a terrible job in the beginning.

Remember when the governor said they were going to run out of ventilators and hospital beds? There was a freaking medical ship parked in the Hudson they didn’t even need thankfully.

I just think the truth is somewhere in the middle. No one has really broken things down to give any type of comparative analysis between American and other countries.

Our country is spread out among four time zones (continental US). We have very diverse regions. We have several very densely populated areas. We have some states that are poorly run. It’s complicated.

I don’t want to be the person that weighs economic cost vs the loss of human life. That’s all subjective anyway.

We lost about 55k more people than the countries I listed but what about all the other factors like jobs, the economy, etc?

Some people say the cure can’t be worse the cause. Others would say we’ve basically had like a hundred 9/11s. No one wins in an argument like this.

I say open things up but use common sense. Distance when you can, wash hands, wear a mask in crowded areas. I’m not so sure what is so hard about this.

I’m just sick of people saying that mask mandates are unconstitutional. I’m not talking to you but if someone is reading this and thinks it’s unconstitutional, I would ask them to think to themselves what parts of the constitution they actually know.

I listen to people that say they are pro-life and then they refuse to do something that might actually saves lives.

Doctors and scientists have been having a hard time figuring out this virus yet people on Facebook and Twitter suddenly think they are experts on the subject.

      This entire year is f*cked.

all those places have the same thing in common, you’ll never find those answers on tv. this didnt occur in the way that they say it did. show me any “virus” of any kind that has ever been truly isolated u can’t, but I can tell u of many ailments that were the results of man’s actions and labeled as diseases. so let the gaslighting continue onward we march. I’ve long been enthralled by the things people believed requiring no proof. amazed, but not shocked.

Look at Canada too. Many liberal Americans were saying how great Trudumb is as a leader.

Our cases are skyrocketing now that summer is over. Who would have thought?

So we have had not even a few percent of our country get it and now noone has immunity. Some provinces are locking down again, what an absolute mess. Goodbye small business.
