This law needs to stipulate any black who is a descendant of a black person who owned slaves or has a relative who has committed property or violent crimes against non blacks is automatically disqualified.

The commission is going to do some research and they're going to really have to do some digging. California was a free state.

But if a slave made it to California and tried to earn to buy his freedom, California would ban them or return them to the slaveowner.

So that's going to be one of the big "offenses" the task force will probably try to hinge upon.
