I take gabapentin, an anticonvulsant, for nerve pain in my arms.
I had to quit cold turkey for just two days, for unexpected reasons.
Man, that sucked bad. Can't sleep, can't eat, and of course hurt all over.
It's not a party drug, doesn't get one high, in fact it's one of the safest, non toxic drugs there are and I take it for a simple off label use.
Fukkin doctor's office fukked up and sent me through a couple of days of hell. The pharmacist would have given me some on the side, but I wanted to see what would happen.
Well I found out alright. It's worse than opiods, hands down, at least for the first two days.

Was it the nerve pain that was terrible or were there withdrawals too? Never heard of it.

and were you sitting inside staring at a computer screen alone
or being social?
usually when im not on a drug im addicted to, i handle it just fine if i am busy and dont think about it
the minute i am alone with only my thoughts, thats when the shakes happen and start freaking out

Both pain and withdrawals were problems. That's the thing, addiction is not an issue with me, but dependance can't be denied when these are taken daily and I have to take them daily for a reason. If I'm taking time off, then tapering down is the way to go.
Rudy you are 100% correct and I have a wonderful support system around me. I actually fell off posting the last couple days of the month because while I was working and capping, and posting some plays, I spent much of the time down and trying to be out. I watched episodes of "The Flash" on netflix...lol.
Those first two days of the gaba withdrawal were overwhelming, activity or socializing or any of it wasn't really in the cards and wouldn't have made a difference. That's kind of why I posted in the thread, it was a couple of days worth noting.
I could understand a little further down the road, especially with the pain meds, after some initial withdrawal, where your environment matters. For me I'm working at the computer and SBR is another screen, even a form of socializing.
But yeah, I ceratinly didn't feel up to my normal power posting those days, that's for sure.
