Yeah but you have to expand the whole analogy. The refs' lives are in much less danger than the police.

I think the most cops don't have big ego's or arrogant. Have you ever stopped by one of them and thanked them for what they do? They will appreciate it and engage in conversation. Most of what's going on is very media driven, mostly showing the bad situations that cops get in. It's a tough job, especially now. They're just like us. They have a family with kids, bills to pay and enjoy most of what we enjoy. Somebody has to enforce the law and protect the citizens. Unfortunately, the younger generation is failing to understand that, mostly because of the many broken homes that are common today that a lot come from.

Yeah I shouldn't have made such a sweeping statement and said "they usually have big egos", but some definitely do. Any job that gives you that kind of power will always have egos though.

I've worked with & out of the same building as cops for 20 years.

One used to take a girl into the station overnight on shift and do her.

I was a bit higher down the employee chain back then so kept my mouth shut
