Covid 19 Data Snapshot 7/14 - The South Sickening Faster Than Most of the Rest of the
Only South Africa had higher rates of new infections and deaths in the past week than did the U.S.’s southern states. There was a record death day in Florida today, as the surge in infections over the past 3 weeks starts taking its toll.

When the media consistently claims.
Right wing, conservative, regions are being hit by corona virus 10 times harder than left wing, socialist, regions.
What am I supposed to think about that.
Aside from it obviously being politically motivated.

Doctors in red states not marking the deaths properly. Lowering the death counts

Assuming you’re serious – the data in my chart doesn’t come from the “media”, it comes from what is reported by the states themselves. The fact that southern states are, by and large “red states” is honestly incidental to the fact that they are being hit so hard by the pandemic, which is the only reason they have my attention. Currently, “blue states” are, apparently, doing better in halting the disease spread because they’re finding it politically easier to halt “reopenings” than are “red states”, which are doggedly determined not to fail Trump’s misguidedly aggressive “reopening” agenda. Inevitably, such an agenda will fail, as even puppets like Ron DeSantis will be faced with the ever-growing nightmare of infections and deaths that Florida’s “reopening” has precipitated, and order new/old lockdown restrictions to attempt to regain control. Remdesivir (which was unavailable when the northeast had its infections surge) will undoubtedly mitigate the number of southern states deaths, but it’s not a cure, and deaths will continue as long as infections continue to grow.
Meanwhile, of course, “blue states” – despite reduced Covid 19 infections and deaths are paying the price for their continuing lockdown restrictions, with ever-growing economic suffering. I don’t know of anywhere in the world that has successfully “reopened” after being hit hard by the Coronavirus. S. Korea, which nipped the virus in the bud early on, has tried to reverse its own restrictions several times, but never without concomitant deadly spikes of the disease; and the Korean response to Covid 19 has been the smartest I’ve seen in all the nations and U.S. states I’ve been watching.
Bottom line: the southern states need to reverse their “reopenings”, hunker down, and wait for a vaccine. Easier to say than to do, I know, but it is better than killing people, which is all they’ll accomplish otherwise.

Fake charts and other lies are the kinds of thing Red Herd morons like you spread – and end up killing people.
Go back and look at it. They say it is "misleading". It is also 100% true. That chart is real. They do not want you to draw conclusions from it, is the bottom line.

The chart is still a fake, as the Texas Department of State Health Services has said, and you’re still a desperate Red Herd liar. No “flu” since 1918 has killed more people than Covid 19 – and they’re still dying – and that’s the bottom-line truth you’re afraid of.
reading between the lines of their twitter reply it looks like the information is accurate but that it is misleading because we havent had a full year of covid and that the numbers were gathered differently.

looking more at the twitter thread was pretty funny since no one could figure out that the death rate was determined using the total population of texas and not the positive tests. it looks like the numbers are from flu and pneumonia where they were the underlying or a contributing cause of death. it seems similar to how covid deaths are counted since i am guessing pneumonia deaths may be counted as probable covid deaths.

Florida 112 deaths today after 132 yesterday. by far the two worst days deathwise in that state. deaths are probably much higher, but are being underreported for political reasons. my opinion

OK here's the deal. WE ARE ALL GONNA GET THE **-FLU. The vaccine will not be effective or even available to anyone soon. Stop being a pussy and face the world like you used to do. You can't sit at home preying that everything will be O.K. The chances of croaking is less than 1% so grow a set and get out there and be productive and stop with the panic porn. We are still well south of even 1% of the population kicking the bucket from this.
If you're really concerned for your health, stay at home and hide in the closet with a respirator and a hepa filter that can capture shit less than 1 micron in size.

Hard to make sense of the data. What’s the deal with Tennessee ? How come they have more cases than Michigan but 1/7th the deaths ? 7 multiple can’t just be explained by testing. Highly doubt they are testing 7 times more. There is more to this story and relying on doctors and politicians to make sense of all this and make decisions for the entire country does not make sense. Need phds in math and statistics working on this. Need to mandate more data points to collect at hospitals. Need a clear definition and guidelines for all states on what counts as covid death. Need to stop with the PC bullshit and talk about stats by race/weight . Figure out if it’s genetic or culture/diet causing it.
I think Florida getting hit is not surprising considering how many people go there to retire. I think we need to consider the fact that everybody is going to get it and it just took longer to reach some areas. NY numbers probably getting better because many already got it and built antibodies. But many studies show they don’t last forever. Could they get hit again ? Disease is scary and long term effects are worrisome. I know I can’t live like this forever and country will go broke. We can wear masks and quarantine and stay home all we want but this thing is never going away. Is vaccine even going to work or is this going to mutate like the flu and come back every year ? Shits crazy right now

Find that hard to believe it would cause a 7x difference. Tennessee is on the progressive side in medical community due to all the medical colleges there. Unless you are suggesting someone higher up is fudging the numbers. I’m not convinced there isn’t another driver we are missing here.
