It my neighbour’s fruit tree hangs over my property can i eat the fruit?

I started eating the fruit and he left a note 2 pages sayings he is demanding i stop or he will fine me. I then cut the branch off since it was ob my property and took it inside. I just looked out the window and he is taking pictures. What would you do??

I know an insurance agent that has had many interesting disputes with this issue. The law seems backwards but it's the way it works.
