As far as home defense technically a shotgun is your best device

One shot of 00 Buck and anybody is done. Mine have 9 .38 cal balls in them. Shotgun is great as long as you get that first shot on them. Can be bulky down hallways but they make pistol grip , shorter one also which is nice. I like .45 ACP 1911 pistols also.
