i agree that most cops are not bad ppl and that they are judged by the worst of them a lot of the time since that it is what gets media coverage. the main problem is that bad police are allowed to get away with misconduct too much. the good cops deserve some blame for that. the police union probably deserves the most blame for that. if this guy is the head of the union then he probably stopped many bad cops from being fired.

Agree both should be eliminated

But in the process of eliminating a few thousand bad cops, we've created & unleashed tens or hundreds of thousands of criminals new & old

Only one side is hired for a job and swears an oath to protect and serve and paid to do so.

the more power you are more entrusted with the more harm your corruption can do

but you'll have bad apples in any legit walk of life or profession. We just need all law enforcement to begin to stop protecting and remaining silent when the Bad apples do bad apple things.

Have we though? The only evidence of that particular scenario was in 2014 or 2015 related to nyc police trying to prove that if they policed less crime would go up and in fact crime went down. So in reality based on evidence it’s simply not a fact. Could it happen? Maybe but at the moment it speaks against what you are implying.
Sometimes people run with an idea and think they will know what will happen without evidence. Look at the protests, how many people on here were shouting that all the criminals were going to come into suburban neighborhoods and rob and loot them? So far that hasn’t proved to be truthful but it was a story that gained traction to try and create chaos.
Sometimes radical ideas scare people but sometimes sticking with the status quo when it’s broken is worse.
