They are closing many of them across the nation and I was wondering what could they be hearing through the pipeline that makes them think that there is danger to Target stores in other states.

Not a bad theory. But its got to be more than that. Target is a niche store, most looters probably have never been to a Target because Target doesn't want everyone's money. Target has a target audience, always has.

Sure, but the looters are not there to pay money. I think a mix of type of store and location. Doubt it is a target brand related issue, but who knows

The question is why Target is being targeted. Looting and stealing could be done at Macy's, Walmart, Best Buy, KMart, Costco, Sam's, etc. Target seems to be the target and the stores are not being opened in some cities. If you don't have an answer as to why Target is a target it is ok. Your answer doesn't have anything to do with the topic thread.

I can see that being the case in Minnesota. That is the headquarters. But in cities thousands of miles away closing Targets because of threats seem strange unless there is something that Target is being associated with. Target is not the end all be all in every city.
