So I recently purchased a set of Bose QC35 II headphones and it's been nothing but buyer's remorse ever since.
I get home, open the package and think I can simply connect via Bluetooth. But NO! Bose forces me to download an app on my mobile devices (tablet and or phone) in order to connect. So at that point I'm a little upset but I proceed to download the app. Then, after installing the app, it says I must enable my location on my device in order to use the app. I tried without enabling my location....no luck. Why the F@#% does Bose need to know my location in order for me to use the headphones for which I paid a hefty price in order to connect to my mobile device that is two feet in front of me?
So I go ahead and forfeit my privacy and enable location, connect and then disable my location and the headphones work fine. But thereafter, every time I want to use them, I have to open the Bose app, enable my location again and reconnect! WTF?!!! What's the product here? The headphones or me? Although Bose makes good products as far as sound quality goes, I CANNOT recommend anyone to purchase this product and sacrifice their privacy for the sake of sound quality. There are other products out there.
Sony makes a similarly equal product. Does anyone have any knowledge of the Sony WH-1000XM3? Are they also equally dependent on sacrificing one's privacy in order to use them? I'm ready to return (or trash) these Bose. Yeah, it's a bit of money to throw away, but my privacy is worth more than that! F^*# Bose!!!
