Anyone here gonna be buying Chinese products in the future?
Anyone here gonna buy Chinese products in the future? I've been laying off of the chinese made products now for about 3 years. Mostly it was my environmental sense of duty that did it. The thought was wondering how much energy does it take to extract all of the natural resources to create the cheap crap they make? So I buy the most durable, reliable product I can every time and pay the difference to do so. It is actually working out better because I am buying less shit and getting more out of the product life cycle.

But now, Fuk China, even if they have a better product in the future. I can't support a regime that has put me in the house for the last couple of months forcing me to deal with my family. I will now only buy products that are 100% not made in China, which is difficult to do but if you research the market, it can be done.

For all you race baiters out there, remember I will still get chinese food because most of these people are hard working legal immigrants making a living by employing their entire family.

I will miss the message parlors however to alleviate my yellow fever.

Most of the time you don't even realize its Chinese made until after the purchase.

Of course not I stated such in my post.
BTW Chinese food here in the states is not really Chinese food. Even at the upscale places I haven't found bat wing soup on the menu.

It's a good question Slurry. I'd imagine that most Americans' answer will be the same as mine--I'd love to buy American for everything, but first it is tough to find those products (yes, like you mentioned it can be researched, but when you just want to go to the store and get something there won't be many options on the shelves) and second it would be cost prohibitive for people like me. Sure, we could do it for a bit, but over the cost of a year we'd be talking pretty big numbers. For the majority of the SBR community it shouldn't be an issue, as there are countless threads with posts saying how much money everyone has, but for us who make enough to live buy and have a bit to lay away for later, we have to think about such things.

only way to avoid chinese made stuff is for us corporations to move their factories from China to India, Bangladesh or some other country.

Originally, my self imposed China ban stems from resource utilization. As an contracted industrial process engineer, I see first hand from several industries just how much shit is extracted from the earth and how much effort it takes. So for example instead of recycling plastic bottles which is a SCAM, I thought of lowering my carbon footprint by lowering my consumerism. By selecting the best product I can with the best durability, I can actually lower my overall expense of just having shit while helping my environmental concerns over the carbon footprint that everything has.
Take for example paper straws. They actually have a larger carbon footprint than the plastic ones due to the processing requirements needed to create them.

I always wondered why we didn't cozy up to India in the first place. The Chinese have a huge market but they are commie red bastard control the world wanting non-humanitarians. While India is at least equally as large a market and an actual democracy whose people for the most part like the U

                            I want to buy american.

But american business culture is usually too dumbed down and overregulated to produce anything other than garbage.

At least china sells their garbage cheap.

China is primarily producing rice, wheat, potatoes, tomato, sorghum, peanuts, tea, millet, barley, cotton, and soybeans and so on...

I did recently pick up a product to buy (cough drops) and looking at the label noticed that it was made in China. I promptly placed it back on the shelf and picked up another similar product although it was almost twice the price. F@#$ the CCP!

However, I bought a box of 50 M95 masks a few days ago. I get home and look at the label...MADE IN CHINA!!! And then I'm not even sure if M95 is true or just a label. That's on me for not being more observant when I purchased them. So they infect us and then sell us the products to protect us from the infection they imported to us! Very smart scam on their part! But I'll definitely be more observant in the future and make every effort not to buy Chinese products. I

I'm not sure about your commodities claim here. in fact I believe that the U.S. is a bigger producer of rice, and for sure soybeans are part of the deal for China to buy from U.S. which they haven't started to do yet.
