Thanks for sharing this clip. I recognize many of the scenes depicted. Sam Harris is an intelligent man and one of what they call the Four Horseman of Atheism. Dennett, wow, my memory's awful; Dawkins and I can't remember the other guy's name. Will have to read his short book on determinism, which, IMO, is also a fascinating subject.

The "benevolent" argument has been admitted to being a formidable objection to the monotheistic worldview by many other brilliant thinkers. There have been some rebuttals, but I can't articulate them here. I think a believer-mathematician named John Lennox might have a somewhat cogent response to the "problem of suffering" but personally, I remember it not being overly convincing.

Don't think Sam is an Intelligent Design espouser. He doesn't address, at least here, the polytheistic view of the ancient Upanishads which benevolent and malign deities struggle for dominance.
