I would bring my mind and that's it. Maybe bring a few really good historical invention books. Antibiotics and pain killers for sure.

I would then be responsible for the discover of electricity, plumping and heating, drainage, toilet creation, cars, radio, battery, refrigeration, electric motors, etc. etc.. I'm a contractor by trade so I know all that shiiiit and how it works..

I'd be creating all kinds of stuff for that time and go down as the greatest inventor in world history.. I'd be an absolute hero for the times if I didn't get killed for being considered a false God, Alien or Witch by the locals first!!!

Keep in mind if you started trying to explain and show people of that age some of these more complex things you'd prob get burned at the stake as some sort of witch or dark magic practioner.

Scientists were killed by the church for refusing to refute all sorts of scientic ideas and theories like Round earth and, the earth revolving around the sun, and outer space in general

and this was centuries later than 1000

Well I'd take invention how to books as that would only help so I guess I'd bring those other then just my mind..

Chi Archie you're a bright fella what could you invent for the times and be a hero to the people? If anything else you could event sports like basketball, hockey, baseball, bowling, golf, etc.. See if it sticks with the locals..

That's why I said in my post "if I didn't get killed first".

I guess I'd bring an AK assault rifle then with a ton of ammo, case of grenades and light weight body armor rather then invention books and antibiotics then.

A few of you are bringing lots of several different things which is not permitted... and sort of defeats the point of the question to begin with.

There may or may not be a best answer for this question but... for me personally... I think a high quality, long lasting, waterproof lighter would be something I would definitely consider.
