I always thought Napoleon Dynamite was funny because I hung out with kids kind of like that and was kind of like that myself. I don't regret my choices of friends because I hang out with a lot of the same people (we actually watched this movie in the theater together). Looking back at the awkwardness of that time in my life makes me laugh every time I see that movie because it's 100% accurate.

The cafeteria scene the cameraman turned to John Landis and said "what's Belushi doing"?
Landis told the cameraman I don't know just follow him and get it all on film.
Belushi was taking a helicopter out to shoot from NYC. Coked out of his mind all the time. He was the only beast. The rest of the cast were actors trying to break out.
True story: Boston Globe Movie guy gives AH 1 STAR when it came out. Sophmoronic nonsense, yada yada....
Years later, same guy came out and admitted he was wrong. Big props and like a 3.5. Jay Carr? maybe??

I saw an uncensored behind the scenes documentary of the making of Caddyshack. It was like out of the pages of Caligula.
80 percent of the cast were either snot dripping drunk or lit up like a Christmas trees on coke.
Rodney was going though a couple of eight balls a day the story goes.
