Cop Downloads Child Porn onto His Phone, Shares it at Dept. Meeting as Fellow Cops ‘Laugh and Joke’

Ross Township, PA — In today’s digital age, revenge porn and sexual images posted online without the subject’s consent, is an unfortunate and all too common reality. It is also a complex legal minefield and has authorities unsure on where to draw the line. One thing, however, is clearly established — and that is the fact that any of this material involving children, is entirely unacceptable, repugnant, and illegal.

One would think that because children sex videos are universally frowned upon by society — who locks people in a cage for it — that cops would know not to engage in it. Sadly, however, as the following case illustrates, one would be wrong.

The Ross Police Department in Pennsylvania is under fire and investigation this week after that very act allegedly occurred. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has launched an investigation into a Ross police officer over his actions involving a sex video of a local child.

The video was posted to Facebook and sparked a separate police investigation.

WTAE reports that a letter by the leadership of the union representing Ross police triggered the investigation, calling the department’s reaction to the video “disturbing”. The letter also criticizes Ross police Chief Joseph Ley’s handling of the incident because he took no action.

When contacted about the letter, Ross Township Board of Commissioners President Dan DeMarco responded, saying, “The Ross board of commissioners is aware of the allegations set forth in the letter and take them seriously. We have no other information regarding this matter, which has been turned over to the Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General for investigation.”

According to the letter, during a police roll call, the unnamed police sergeant took out his personal phone — where he had downloaded and saved the video — and began playing it for his fellow officers. Instead of questioning why this cop had child pornography on his phone, the other officers began “laughing and joking about it” as he did.

Only a single officer raised a red flag after being “offended and shocked” at their fellow cops casually viewing child porn during an official meeting and reported the incident. That officer went through the proper chain of command to report what they had witnessed, and was largely ignored by the chief and everyone else who downplayed the incident. What’s more, according to the letter, the officer blowing the whistle was blackballed.

        As WTAE reports:

"An attorney for the union confirms the executive board of Ross’ police union wrote the detailed letter about the concerns to Ross Township’s board of commissioners. The letter says the chief 'failed to take the required immediate action in a potential felony incident against a child.' It calls that 'negligent and irresponsible.'”

To recap: A police sergeant downloaded child pornography to his personal phone that was part of a separate investigation. He then shared it in front of all of his peers, who also took part in viewing it. Instead of arresting him for having it, they joked and laughed about it. Then, when the single cop with a conscience tried to expose it, they were attacked by the chain of command.

Not only was the department complicit in covering up the sharing of child porn between their own officers but they attacked the one person who tried to expose it. Tell me again about that bad apple.

Highly Decorated D.A.R.E. Cop Admits to Running Enormous Child Porn Ring That Abused Toddlers

Beavercreek, OH — The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program should better be called an egregious exercise in how not to convince kids to keep away from substances the state deems illegal. As cops hopped on their high horses and had children pledge not to do drugs, the rate of drug use skyrocketed — thrusting the country into one of the worst drug epidemics in human history. The hypocrisy by the cops who pushed the D.A.R.E. program has been well-documented over the years, explaining, at least in part, as to why the program was such a failure from the start. Now, another cop who pushed kids to ‘just say no’ has pleaded guilty to disturbing criminal activity.

Parents whose children participated in the D.A.R.E. program in Beavercreek, Ohio now need to question their children who may have had contact with former Beavercreek police officer Kevin A. Kovacs. In April 2019, Kovacs, 60, was arrested at his home for unspeakable crimes against children. This week, he admitted to all of it and it’s utterly horrifying.

“Videos featured the sexual abuse of children as young as toddler aged,” the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement. “One video depicted a toddler lying on a diaper whose arms and legs were bound by black tape.”

In total, as of December 2019, Kovacs possessed more than 780 images and 5,100 videos of child pornography, according to the release. He had used online messenger, social media, cloud storage and email accounts to transport and possess child pornography.

This disgusting individual will now be spending up to the next 240 months in a cage, where he belongs.

“The conduct he is alleged to have committed is both disgusting and extremely disappointing,” said former Beavercreek Police Chief Dennis Evers at the time of Kovacs arrest. “As a former D.A.R.E. officer who received departmental and community awards for his work, he, of all people, knew this criminal activity to be exploitation of children and unlawful.”

Less than two years before this cop was arrested for running a child porn ring, Officer Kovacs received the “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” Award. When presented with the honor, the Beavercreek police department praised him for his work with young children.

"Officer Kovacs has served the community of Beavercreek for 25 years. Currently in his sixth year as the D.A.R.E. officer for Beavercreek schools, Officer Kovacs teaches 5th grade students decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives, empowering them to respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance abuse, and other dangerous behaviors. As the crime prevention specialist, Officer Kovacs provides information to citizens and businesses on safety and security issues and assists in developing crime prevention initiatives in the community. Officer Kovacs’ commitment and dedication to working in partnership with our community and helping to educate the youth of Beavercreek inspires respect for law enforcement and fosters the well-being of the community."

Kovacs retired in August 2018 after 25 years with the Beavercreek Police Department. He worked as a patrol officer, crime prevention specialist and DARE officer with Beavercreek City Schools, according to a Beavercreek police Facebook post announcing his retirement.

It is highly unlikely that this officer, who worked around young children for nearly a decade, just decided to get into child porn after his retirement.

The school system — who put this man in front of countless potential victims, expressed their shock after Kovacs’ arrest.

“Beavercreek City Schools administration was alarmed after learning of the allegations against Ofc. Kovacs,” said Beavercreek Superintendent Paul Otten. “School staff and parents have been notified about this alleged incident and are encouraged to reach out to local law enforcement if they have specific concerns or information related to this case.”

According to WHIO, Evers also added that this type of activity is part of a larger problem in today’s society and he’s encouraging legislatures to look at passing more stringent laws that would make it more difficult to access this kind of material on the internet. He also is calling for the increasing of penalties who chose to knowingly access and download the material.

Indeed, it is a growing problem in today’s society — and top cops continue to be the ones getting busted for it. Just within the last week, TFTP reported on yet another high ranking cop busted for running a similar network. Peter Bilardello was indicted on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Georgia said in a news release on Wednesday, Feb. 9.

NYPD Police Union President Arrested for Stealing Over $1 Million from Fellow Cops in Lowlife Scheme

New York, NY — Nothing says “culture of corruption” quite like cops committing crimes against their fellow cops. And, perhaps nothing highlights this point better than one of the highest ranking cops in the country waging an elaborate scheme to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from his fellow officers.

This week, Edward Mullins, the former President of the Sergeants Benevolent Association (“SBA”), the union that represents all current and former Sergeants of the New York City Police Department, was charged for fraudulently using union funds for personal gain.

On Wednesday, Mullins turned himself in to the FBI and was charged with one count of wire fraud in connection with his despicable scheme. Mullins’ scheme involved using police union funds to live a lavish lifestyle at the expense of his fellow officers.

After his arrest, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “As alleged, Edward Mullins, the former President of the SBA, abused his position of trust and authority to fund a lavish lifestyle that was paid for by the monthly dues of the thousands of hard-working Sergeants of the NYPD.

“Mullins submitted hundreds of phony expense reports to further his scheme, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the SBA. This Office is committed to rooting out corruption at all levels of government, and that includes public officials like Mullins who use their positions of power to line their own pockets to the detriment of others.”

According to the Department of Justice, for nearly two decades, from 2002 until October 2021, Mullins served as President of the SBA. As president Mullins was responsible for for promoting the general welfare of the SBA’s membership. Instead of doing that, however, this top cop “orchestrated a scheme to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from the SBA and its members.

”The NYPD’s SBA is the fifth largest police union in the country and takes in millions every year in the form of officer dues. For active members, dues are deducted bi-weekly from their paychecks, totaling approximately $1,300 annually for each member and $600 for retired members. Mullins was using their dues to eat $3,000 meals and buy gold watches.

In 2017, Mullins found a friend in the treasurer, who was lazy with checking his receipts and this thieving cop then saw his moment to pounce. According to the DoJ:

"Between in or around 2017 and in or around October 2021, MULLINS defrauded the SBA by using his personal credit card to pay for meals at high-end restaurants and to purchase luxury personal items, among other things, and then submitting false and inflated expense reports to the SBA, seeking reimbursement for those bills as legitimate SBA expenditures when in fact they were not. Altogether, MULLINS was reimbursed for over $1 million dollars in expenses from the SBA, the majority of which was fraudulently obtained."

Some examples of this fraud include paying off his personal credit card and eating hundreds of high-end meals. Mullins was stealing from his fellow cops so he could buy expensive clothing, jewelry, home appliances, and he even stole from them to pay for a relative’s college tuition.

“Ed Mullins allegedly violated the ethics and rules of this department, the trust of 13,000 Sergeants, active and retired whom he represented, and the laws of the United States,” NYPD Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell said.

If convicted, Mullins faces up to 20 years behind bars.

While this case sounds like it would be an isolated incident, cops are caught stealing from each other all the time — even police union presidents. In fact, less than 6 months ago, TFTP reported on the case of Clermont officer Jeremy Kevitt, who was the president of the Clermont Police Officers Union in Florida.

Kevitt was arrested on Labor Day of last year for stealing $50,000 from his own union — including the theft of money from a fund set up to pay for the medical bills of a wounded cop.

The term “lowlife” doesn’t even begin to describe the type of person who would steal from donated funds which were going to help pay the medical bills of a wounded cop.

Cop Arrested for Selling Large Amounts of Cocaine From His Police Cruiser, While On Duty, In Uniform

Raleigh, NC — Thanks to the state’s immoral and often deadly war on drugs, countless American citizens have had their lives ruined or ended over their personal choice to put a substance in their bodies. Highlighting the colossal failure of the war on drugs is the fact that drug overdoses are at an all-time high while the DEA and other law enforcement programs for drug enforcement are receiving record amounts of taxpayer dollars.

Despite years of suffering, oppression, and the expansion of the police state, most lawmakers cannot see the atrocities that their policies are creating. Their answer to the war on drugs, is more war on drugs.

Nothing epitomizes this madness better than when cops — who are tasked with arresting people for arbitrary substances deemed illegal by the state — are caught selling or using those very substances. When the enforcers of the drug war actually become participants in the drug trade, it is high time we admit defeat and try something different.

A cop in Raleigh, North Carolina made this point perfectly after he was arrested for trafficking drugs — from his patrol car, while on duty, and in uniform. According to court documents, Keven Rodriguez, 33, a Field Operations Division Officer with the Raleigh Police Department, distributed cocaine while on duty in his patrol car.

Rodriguez had become so brazen with his drug sales that his own officers apparently found out that he was selling the drugs from his patrol car. After suspicions were raised, a DEA investigation was launched and subsequently ensnared the cop.

According to the Department of Justice, a confidential source arranged to meet with Rodriguez on January 24, 2022. Rodriguez drove to the meeting location in his marked Raleigh Police Department patrol car and was carrying his duty firearm. The confidential source met with Rodriguez and gave Rodriguez $2,600 in cash. Rodriguez then gave suspected cocaine to the confidential source. The drugs were later tested by a lab and confirmed to be approximately 56 grams of cocaine.

The wired informant spoke to Rodriguez through his right passenger window, and the transaction was recorded on audio and video and observed live by agents.

“When one who wears the badge breaks the law, it breaches the public trust,” U.S. Attorney Michael Easley said. “This alleged crime is a serious breach of public trust.”

“The arrest of Mr. Rodriguez is a disappointment to me, the Raleigh Police Department, and the citizens and residents of our community,” Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson said. “Although disheartening, I want to ensure transparency to maintain public trust.”

“While I am disturbed by today’s events, I will not allow the alleged actions of one to define the Raleigh Police Department or discredit the outstanding work that our employees do on a daily basis,” Patterson said. “I will continue to hold my officers and myself accountable to the highest standard of conduct, both on and off duty.”

According to the U.S. attorney, however, there may be more than “one officer” within the department who is also using their position in law enforcement to profit from the war on drugs.

During a press conference, Easley would not confirm whether similar arrests were expected, but suggested there are more officers involved in the scheme than they originally anticipated.

Rodriguez now faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 5 years in prison if convicted, and a maximum of life in prison. Clearly the threat of this sentence was not enough to deter the cop from participating in the drug trade. It is time we end this immoral war.
