You are an ignorant piece of trash with no sense of culture or style.

Not my fault tho, so, not sure why you seem to blame me...

A scratchy smokers voice though? Kretz and DeLeo brothers sounded better with Weiland. Weiland sounded better with Kretz and the DeLeo brothers. They all sound regular solo.

Stone Temple Pilots... one hell of a band.

Heard that mention of Zeppelin in the podcast Hurry, always thought I could here some Zep in STP especially the drums.

Not very many albums can be put on and played from beginning to end or set on shuffle and never do you skip a song or worry about one you aren't in the mood for, they all step up to the plate.

I see some criticism here, it's not for everyone, and my musical taste, as many know, is pretty broad.

I love these guys, this was a good piece of work...

KBV, very well put! And yes, Dean DeLeo's style is reminiscent of Jimmy Page imo... without the dragged out solos of course. But riff wise? It's the same style and energy in many ways, maybe a bit more modern of course, and with lots of more sound layers that he used on his pedal effects.

STP was in essence rocknroll, fun-loving rabid music but also introspective and ****** up in some ways... CORE, is their main "grunge" album, and to some degree Purple too... but by their 3rd record, Tiny Music, they were already pushing the envelopes...

N°4 is a masterpiece of obscurity, and the ballad Sour Girl, is simply the quintessential 90's ballad IMO... best song to woo a lady to...

And don't even get me started with Shangri-Lee-Da, fuckin genius, absolutely love the psychedelic arrangements...

As for Velvet Revolver, their 1st record is a masterpiece too. Libertad, their 2nd, is not as good and fails to showcase the magic of their debut. You can tell their chemistry was short lived, the separation was ugly with Slash and Sorum being dicks to Scott due to his relapse while they were doing blow themselves as well, on tour.

thats exactly why I didnt pay much attention to your slight

as long as the guy is not diddling kids like that freak from Lost Prophets or raping 15yo girls after drugging them I dont care what they do with their personal business, I'm all in on the music

MAIN reason why I can still enjoy DeNiro's movies, despite despising him over being a kid diddler piece of shit.

I still giggle with Two and a Half Men, despite Charlie Sheen being a pedo crackhead.

It is what it is man, I won't stop enjoying the world cause people are sick.

So you were in the OC back then? What years?

Scott's 1st band was a regular at DEJA VU in OC... they were called Soi Dissant

It's the same style and energy in many ways, maybe a bit more modern of course, and with lots of more sound layers that he used on his pedal effects...

MAIN reason why I can still enjoy DeNiro's movies, despite despising him over being a kid diddler piece of shit.

I still giggle with Two and a Half Men, despite Charlie Sheen being a pedo crackhead.

Scott and his HS school pal Cory Hickok were a common staple at the OC with Soi Dissant in 1988-89, they threw wild after party's at a UC frat house in Irvine where the owner was a coke dealer... thats where they met Robert DeLeo, I believe they moved to Hollywood early 1990...

Met Rob again and he brought his brother Dean... and kicked Cory to the curb... STP was born as Mighty Joe Young at 1st

interesting story.... hard to believe that could go down in irvine.... that had to be the most sanitized, cookie cutter suburb-laden city I ever considered living in..... was just too clean, and everything looking the same, for me back in the early 90's.... why I chose costa mesa near the beach and the beach itself to live in.....

those irvine cops were diks, can't believe the coke dealer didn't get put away for a long ass time.....

Scott Richard Kline (October 27, 1967 - December 3, 2015) was born in Santa Cruz, California, he started his first band "Soi Dissent" while in high school in California. Weiland's parents divorced when he was 2 years old, later his mother would marry David Weiland and Scott would adopt his stepdad's last name.

As a Grammy-winning songwriter and ferocious lead singer, Scott shocked music fans worldwide with his bands Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver; his flamboyant, explosive style as a front-man and his on-stage antics quickly helped to cement the band's reputation.

During his life, Scott experienced many highs and lows... a number of personal tragedies predisposed him to guilt and pain. However, he would rise to the occasion multiple times to be born again from his own ashes and shock the audiences with yet another platinum record and an explosive live performance to "mark his return"; he achieved this feat every time the press marked him as a finished act.

We go over his autobiography, "Not Dead & Not For Sale" which was published in 2011 with the assistance of David Ritz and we will also talk a little bit about Mary Forsberg's take (and book, "Fall To Pieces"), who he would describe as the love of his life, and of course, the mother of two of his children; Noah & Lucy.

Unfortunately, Scott succumbed to his addictions and passed away on his tour bus, on December 3rd, 2015 due to a prolonged heart condition caused by acute drug abuse and his inability to stay sober. Could his death have been prevented? Was the grueling tour schedule he was forced to accept to maintain his lifestyle and family expenses a heavy catalyst for his ultimate fall? What could have been done differently to protect him from his own self?
